It's a new year, which means another thread to keep track of the games you've beaten in it.
Have you beaten any games so far?

Hey, appreciate you starting this, I'd been kind of meaning to but was waiting until I'd actually beaten something.
Probably end up either doing some quickie Mario game runs or finishing Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies as my first of the year, though not really been playing anything today thus far.

My quest to complete games in 2022 ended HARD about 3/4ths into the year. We’ll see if this year is more of the same. There’s some *good* stuff on the horizon.

I about zoned out and played through almost all of Spyro 1 Remaster today. Was trying to get all of the achievements in Crash 4 but ran into a roadblock or 3

I've kept meaning to do a run through of it of late only for it to kind of perpetually fall by the wayside in favor of other things. Really should just buckle down with it since it's not that long or anything.

I started out the year by playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Needless to say, it's going to be awhile.

Not beaten yet, but my first game beaten of 2023 will be God of War (2018) for PC. Not sure how for I am though. I just to a mine in the mountain after doing some sidequests for the drawf brothers. Alfiehm was pretty though.

1: Life is Strange Played this one through with the girlfriend. She liked it, up until late 4th chapter. She was at a loss when {Spoiler} Max and Chloe didn’t go to the police, and it really took her out of the whole experience Chapter 5 goes a little off the rails, and that chase/flashlight dream scene sucks. Still a good game though, even if not quite as good as I remembered.

2. Metal Gear Solid
Fun fact: I never got far in this game as a kid because I didn't know that "Look on the back of the case for Meryl's Codex" meant the actual game case.

Well, I’m nowhere close to beating it, but my first game that I’ve taken to playing in 2023 is Dark Souls 3, so I went for punishing myself to start. I also wonder just how many people have gone for my build type. I started as a mercenary class (a dex build), but outside of raising my HP early on I’ve been leveling vitality exclusively so I can increase my armor without losing my mobility.. I find being well equipped and fast dramatically makes the game less pants-filling, though I still die aplenty. It amuses me now to remember that I thought Jedi FO was hard.

1. Fight'n Rage
So I was in the mood for this game recently. As a longtime beat-'em-up fan, I like this game, but it is not easy. Hell, to keep a combo going, it gets pretty intense. There are also multiple endings not only depending on who you play as, but also the paths you take and choices you make. There are even endings for multiplayer depending on the characters. The same goes if you have a playthrough with all three playable characters.

1. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
I started playing it last year so maybe this is a cheap one to include. I played it on the PSP back in the day and was eager to see if it was as good as I remembered it being. I still enjoyed it, but I barely scratched the surface of the missions and only did 45% before giving up and finishing the game (I did 100% them on the PSP). The ending is still devasting to play through.
I've moved on to a replay of The Witcher 3 now the next-gen upgrade is out, so I'll be back in six months to add that, probably.

1. Super Mario Bros.
Felt like an appropriate quick and easy first thing of the year to play through as a bit of a cooldown in between working on things. Was specifically the All-Stars version, kind of most partial to it. It's SMB1, not a lot to really say about it, but always a fun way to kill a little time.
