Here's hoping it doesn't take him five months to start defending it again!
For real though he was always really in his element with the belt and think the belt's largely not been great since he lost it so I'm completely on board with him picking up where he left off with it.

Thought Joe was a fun champ but Darby with that title just looks right.

Loved the match, loved the finish, great emotional celebration too
It sounded like Wardlow was on track to win but that Joe/Darby match changed shit. Darby getting another run works for me, he's been fantastic lately. He also gets to carry the TNT Title into NOAH for Mutoh's final match, that's important
Curious where the feuds go from here, wonder if we get Darby vs Hobbs...

Great match and a great moment
don't want them to rush him losing it, but I think he drops it to Swerve, maybe at Revolution

Said in the Dynamite thread, figured he was getting the belt once they set it up and I realized this week was Seattle.
Dunno if it'll be a long reign. May just have been to give Darby and the crowd that moment, maybe drops belt to Joe after the Muta retirement match.
Personally? Darby has a long time rival who also happens to be a Seattle boy that is getting a push now and I think they transition the title to him

At least let him keep the title until DON imo, his previous reign had the stink of the endless Team Taz feud.

I f***s with it.
Really enjoyed Joes run. Like BIG time. Dude brought the TNT Title back to how it felt before The Sammy Debacle Era. In fact, throughout this match I kept thinking “this is the run Joe deserved for so long” but this felt right. Incredible emotional ending with Sting afterwards.
Also: this could be what gears Darby up for the main event scene once it’s done.

Darby is the guy I associate the most with the TNT title, for some reason. He needs a decent run with it though.

Yeah, I was love-love-loving Joe as "the King of Television" and thought it was such a fresh new dimension for him so on paper I might have objected - but having watched the match live and the moment that it was I can't be mad at all at that call. Darby taking the belt into Japan for Muta's final match is a cool historic link, Joe maybe gets freed up now to go after the World Title which results in Wardlow going after Max and the World Title - it's a win all around. So many places they could go with this and all of them good. Stellar end to a stellar Dynamite.

The TNT title just feels like it was built for a cat like Darby.

This may just be a me thing...
But assuming neither of these guys lose their titles anytime soon, I kinda wanna see (assuming there's no IRL beef between them) a picture with Darby and Orange Cassidy standing together with their respective titles.
Because let's face it, they may have had previous success in other companies, but as far as a wider general audience, they are pretty much AEW home grown. And different in look than what some might thing a pro-wrestler would look like.

yeah more I think about it, the more I'm pretty positive they're gonna build for Swerve winning the TNT title from Darby. With Swerve fighting AR Fox to tie up a lose end from his past? He and Darby had a feud that was a big draw for early DEFY shows

Why the f*** does almost every abuser, alleged or confirmed, on this forum get relentlessly criticized for it but Darby gets a pass from people on here.
I'm barely ok with the guy being on television, let alone holding titles. And people are suggesting he move into the Main Event? Imagine the day he wins the world title and he's trending on Twitter (if it still exists) for all the wrong reasons as the allegations get dug back up.
If Tony wants to groom Darby for that level, he better order the kid to do some real f***ing serious accountability. Confess, apologize, commit to therapy around the issue, donate a portion of his salary to women's shelters, if Hawlee Cromwell is open to it some voluntary restorative justice would be good. The whole nine.
I just don't get why this guy gets a magic pass.

I'm not a particularly big fan of Darby but this was great and absolutely the right decision. He's the right guy for the title at the moment.
I worry about Wardlow getting lost now, though.

Because it was just a toxic relationship, Hawlee stuff could be no different than Kimber Lee going nuts about Zachary Wentz(excluding that mustache picture)

Big fan of Joe's last few weeks, but I also think they are going to transition the title to Swerve, so they needed a babyface champion to do that.
Wardlow is also going to get his win back on Joe at some point so better to not have a title be involved in that one. Wardlow shouldn't be a mid card champion, he's already established, same with Joe (even though I enjoyed this run). Let them either be in the World Title picture or in upper mid card feuds where there are no titles involved.
