Just as the title of the thread sounds, what wrestlers theme songs don't sound like they belong on a wrestling TV show, but elsewhere in pop culture?
"The One" Billy Gunn's Theme - Despite having several failed solo pushes, one thing the company DID get right(albeit for a different reason) was his theme song when they tried to push him as a face in 2000. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad song at all, if anything, it's really awesome, however it would be more suited for a 90s TV sitcom.
In fact, I'm not the only one who thinks that as someone on youtube spliced his theme song with the Full House and Step-By-Step intrs, and the two work great together.
Makes you think maybe The Assman shoud've gone into acting with his very own family sitcom to boot. I don't think it's hard to picture him dressed up as your typical 90s TV dad.
Yoshi Tatsu - His theme song sounds like something out of a Super Mario or any early 90s video game. Dosen't scream intimidating or threatening at all(not that his character was suppose to be, but you know what I mean).
Any wrestling themes you can think of that don't belong on a wrestling show?

Rob Conway's solo theme after La Resistance breakup felt so flat the crowd barely reacted to him. It doesn't feel as upbeat compared to the standard wrestling themes that gets viewers amped up for a match.

Hakushi's theme brought many contexts to mind, none of them wrestling entrance music.

Hakushi's theme brought many contexts to mind, none of them wrestling entrance music. Oddly enough his theme made the Full Metal CD that came out around September 1996. I know it was probably first thought of around late 95 given the themes but Hakushi had been gone for about 6 months prior to the release. WWF didn't really seem to get theme CDs down until the Volume 3 which I think was all themes and then the Anthology in 2002 or so.

I actually made a thread about it a few months back, but Yoshi's theme was in a Littlest Pet Shop video game lol A lot of WCW themes didn't really sound like wrestling themes, in fact, many were actually culled from other sections of the Turner library. Lex Luger and Chris Jericho, for example, had songs that were originally used for basketball highlights.

Brian Kendrick's Hey You theme. For whatever reason, I don't associate 90s Ska pop with wrestling.

X-Factor is one of the classic examples, of course.
Marina Shafir's all strings theme didn't work well - that's the sort of thing that either catches fire or dies a death, and apathy toward Shafir made it a guarantee for the latter.
Bryan Danielson using "Self Esteem" by Offspring in ROH is an example, I think. Offspring's sound is generally really good for wrestling themes, but "Self Esteem" just falls really flat.

Hakushi's theme brought many contexts to mind, none of them wrestling entrance music. I thought it was an awesome entrance theme, just it should have been for a moody Sicilian gangster.

The handful of shows that Danielson came out to the 2010ish Night of Champions theme, and then a knockoff of said theme. Worked awesome as music to hype a PPV with, somehow just completely fell flat as an entrance theme.

Even though I dig it, Rick Martel's "Model" theme sounds out of place on a wrestling show.

HBK's first theme ripped off of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. It didn't help that United Airlines used Rhapsody in Blue in their commercials around the same time. I was 11 years old wondering why Shawn was entering to the theme from United Airlines.

Hakushi's theme brought many contexts to mind, none of them wrestling entrance music. Sad animated Disney movie music is what I thought of.

Family Man for Ricky Steamboat.
Girls in Cars if it kept the lyrics.
Desperado...good for Terry Funk promo packages, not so good for entrance music (ECW).

This one is debatable, but Sting's WCW Crow theme sounds less like a wrestling entrance theme and more like something used for a montage package (especially so with the narration added)

Dokken's Into the Fire from NWA Powerr was an odd one. I like the song, but while the chorus works, the verses are too slow. Really, they should have just used a faster Dokken song like Tooth and Nail or Lightning Strikes Again.

Duane Gill as he returns at Survivor Series 98. Definitely low budget 80s tv show theme vibeq, but I do like it!
