The FantasticaMania lineups are out. Mistico vs Atlantis Jr on the last night of the tour is awesome to see them get to do in Japan.

I was wondering if the fact that I rly wasn't feeling Shota Umino at all during Wrestle Kingdom was just a me thing but I guess not lmao The pieces are there, but I don't think he's quite where they want him to be just yet. Forbidden Door showed just how good he can be, but he's still somebody who needs people who can cover the holes in his game. He's not at a point where him matching up to somebody on the level of Naito and taking him to the limit is really believable. He's not ready for 30 minute singles matches yet. Which, to me, is understandable. Okada and Naito wren't there, either, once upon a time. LIJ only exists because Naito was struggling at first, and thinking back on when the "Rainmaker" was new, people were not buying him and his finisher at first. I do hope Umino similarly rises to the challenge with time. |

There's that, yeah, but I remember people needing time to buy him, with people saying stuff like that his tombstone to set up the Rainmaker should have been his finisher instead, or people thinking it was laughable when he won the world title, similarly to what happened to Jay White later. I think Gedo has a knack for giving wrestlers more than they are ready for yet sometimes to try to get them to rise to the occasion, often with top guys, but sometimes lower card, too, like Master Wato's initial woes. |
