So what is everyone expecting from Kairi/Mercedes? Hoping for a good match, Mercedes has had a month to adjust and train. It's billed as The Co-Main Event so they are getting a big opportunity. |

So what is everyone expecting from Kairi/Mercedes? I think it goes between 20-25. Have no clue what it will look like otherwise. This is Mercedes’ match in……almost a year? A couple of months shy of it, at least. It’s also a new environment with a new style. Even if it is a familiar opponent. |

Okada no-showed the press conference with Kaito Kiyomiya. He sent a text saying that he elected not to show due to the title match with Tanahashi on the 18th in San Jose.
Kiyomiya stormed out pissed. I don't think Kaito is booked anytime until the Dome so, he's free until then to travel if he wants to.

I do like that the NJPW top faces don't mind showing a mean streak sometimes, like Tanahashi being intentionally patronizing when a story calls for it, or Okada and Naito being dismissive. It's bad if you overdo it, but giving them hubris can pay off. |

I do like the idea of Tana putting it out there that he wants to outlast a lot of other guys, since he's made comments about other wrestlers in the past based on "Well, OK, but your style is gonna cut your career short." (Shibata, and to a lesser extent Kenny). |
