Mercedes took a massive gamble on herself and it paid off. That was a great match.

That was a pretty fun show. Okada/Tana was a 20-minute greatest hits medley, and I’m perfectly fine with that.

That was a great match between Okada and Tanahashi. Mercededs and Okada posing together was the perfect way to show the future of New Japan in the United States.

If newbies are watching for Mercedes, then a reliable main event is a good first impression, even if it's the kind of thing Tanahashi and Okada could almost do in their sleep.

The timing of the IWGP womens title and Mercedes coming in couldnt be better for both sides. They want to establish that the title is important and she gives them a big international superstar to carry it. She wants to wrestle big matches and prove how good she is and they’re going to give her great opponents and all the time she needs…promoting it as a big deal.
It really couldn’t have worked out better for both.

Looks like Mercedes is the first female member of Chaos with that image.

Just watched Nagata take a nasty apron piledriver from Miyahara. That man can still bump like hell sometimes. As an aside, All Japan also gave their Jr title to Naruki Doi. He’s one of my all-time favorites, but it was another interesting decision. Doi is also DDT Universal Champion and teaming with YAMATO in Dragon Gate’s tag league, so the guy is everything everywhere all at once. I love Nagata but, taking the Triple Crown title off of Miyahara just days away from the Mutoh retirement show is the kind of braindead and counterproductive decision I'd expect from modern-day All Japan.

An aging star beating the top guy for a title he shouldn’t win is the best way to honor Mutoh

The show itself made up for the fact that Fite TV had my screen looking like a colorful version of the Goosebumps intro for 30 minutes.

So CM Punk and Bayley were in attendance.
Let the conspiracy theories begin.

Sounds like according to Dorada's Twitter he's finishing up with them as he thanked New Japan.

I did pop for the dropkick counter to the High Fly Flow. Oh, don't get me wrong, that was a great spot, and the match was great. I am more just saying that Tanahashi and Okada practically know each other better than most spouses do.

What's espeically funny is how Miyahara had just formed a new unit with the purpose of defending AJPW from outsiders, then within two weeks, both of their title holders lose to outsiders.

Nagata Yuji te amo, love him just showing up in another promotion and shitting on the ace and taking their title again like he did in NOAH. He also joins the elite club of GHC/IWGP/TC holders becoming the 5th. I’m just sad we didn’t get the Nagadance this time.

I liked the show. Personally I felt Mercedes vs. KAIRI should have gone last since that was the match that literally sold out this show (it was the only one announced when it sold out), but Okada vs. Tanahashi is a safe main event to have at the end.
The Fite TV crap sucked and the whole David Finlay heel turn really went over like a wet fart.
