According to Fightful, Jay White’s contract is up soon and he is expected to be US-bound.
While not official since he is still under contract, WWE are seen to be the favorites to sign him. AEW are also a possibility.

His matches are really good, but how are his promos? WWE is such a character heavy product that I am curious to how this would work

I don't have a good example offhand, but his character work is as strong as his ring work. If he becomes a free agent he is instantly the best all-around free agent in the world. |

Jay would instantly be an upper midcard/main event guy in WWE, no NXT needed. They'd be nuts not to hire him. And honestly? I think he'd be more of a difference maker in WWE right now than AEW, which says a lot about the strength of the AEW roster.

I thought the report said he was bound for the States. Not specifically for WWE. Unless I read it wrong.
Either way, it's a big signing if they get him.

Jay White would be a huge get for either major American promotion. If WWE gets him, he deserves the AJ Styles treatment. They got AJ toward the end of his peak. They'd be getting a world class guy in Switchblade right as he was entering his peak. Would be a huge, huge get. |

The current uncertain environment in WWE probably makes this much less of a slam dunk than it would've been a week or two ago. Like without the looming spectre of Vince and the pending sale of the company, I have little doubt Triple H would practically give White a blank check to come to WWE. Now? Who knows?

If it wasn’t for the Vince saga you’d probably say WWE would be the favorites - he just seems like a dude that HHH would push to the moon. Will HHH even be there in 6 months though? Who knows.
