Weirdly this is a big loss for NJPW but not an astronomical one
They had gotten used to world without Jay White for 2 years where he only came in sporadically and 2022 was the most he worked in Japan since before the pandemic
Good chance for ZSJ to really step up now

AEW are also a possibility. Jay, for the good of your career, and nothing at all to do with my opinion, I'm begging you to get that Mania paycheque Apparently the special bonuses for their big events are no longer a thing. Instead it gets baked into their regular annual salary, though I doubt it's 100% of it.

Jay would instantly be an upper midcard/main event guy in WWE, no NXT needed. They'd be nuts not to hire him. And honestly? I think he'd be more of a difference maker in WWE right now than AEW, which says a lot about the strength of the AEW roster. Strangely instinctively feel the same. Even with uncertainty in the air, I would ideally see him in WWE, rather than AEW. I do think Jay will end up spending time in the States...but be careful with reports like this, White has been known to work the sheets before, usually with "see you at the Rumble" types of hints. I prefer the idea of him going to AEW, but if he's serious about going full time in America both companies would be insane not to start a bidding war over him, the guy's one of the absolute best performers on the planet. ETA: Come to think of it, I remember there being word circa 2018 that he signed a 7 year deal with NJPW. Could be utter nonsense, none of this stuff is public information. Either way, Jay's in NJPW through February, at minimum. Same thought. Thought he was pinned down for a minute. Anyway, White’s my boy. Love seeing the Haitch comparisons cuz you could clearly see it from the jump with his initial New Japan push/first match at WK. been wanting him to take over in the states for a minute and I can’t lie that the brush in AEW was underwhelming. Brilliant point I read someone on wreddit point out - A lot of his attributes are subtle. And thus go undersung. But he’s got all the tools. Very exciting to see how this develops. At least his inserction in aew made Adam Cole interesting for a few weeks. Which seemed impossible
