I'd be on board with him going to WWE because I know damn well he's the kind of guy Triple H would push to the moon. But with Vince back on the board, eek!

He can tell most of the roster what it’s like wrestling in a sold out Madison Square Garden

Selfishly, I would prefer to see him in AEW because there's too much uncertainty surrounding WWE, and Vince would definitely turn him into, like, the "Kiwi Killer" and make him be basically Skinner.
But, if he goes to WWE, I'll definitely watch. Jay White is one of the best wrestlers in the world.

See I kinda see uncertainty on either big American company.
Like if the Vince return is a RETURN, I can’t see him fitting in there.
But on the AEW side, it’s so crowded. He’s not going to show up and be the title holder over guys like MJF or a potential Punk return. He could easily fall through the cracks and just be another body on a roster full of bodies

The couple of times he was in AEW, he was immediately in the upper card. Granted, he was the current IWGP World Champion at the time, but I think he'd get the star treatment in either company without the Vince elephant in the room.
At the very least, I don't think he's getting the "never ending midcard tag feuds" treatment he got in Impact last year.

If he does go to WWE, I just hope they come up with some creative plans that don't actively involve AJ/Finn/Good Brothers for a bit. He can easily get bogged down in Bullet Club-ish stuff that hasn't really gotten over with fans. He should become his own man first and save that stuff for down the road.

Maybe but an AJ feud would make a great first feud to get him over, IMO.

They were stuck because they couldn’t beat him and they shouldn’t have him go over everyone since he wasn’t going to be there. He took one fall in a year. They only had him because they ran the south a lot and he was just sitting in Florida. Half the time I’m not sure they even knew if he was going to be on the next taping.

I do think Jay will end up spending time in the States...but be careful with reports like this, White has been known to work the sheets before, usually with "see you at the Rumble" types of hints.
I prefer the idea of him going to AEW, but if he's serious about going full time in America both companies would be insane not to start a bidding war over him, the guy's one of the absolute best performers on the planet.
ETA: Come to think of it, I remember there being word circa 2018 that he signed a 7 year deal with NJPW. Could be utter nonsense, none of this stuff is public information. Either way, Jay's in NJPW through February, at minimum.

White is based out of Florida so many felt was a long time coming. Said in the (w)rest forum. He'd have more freedom in AEW but likely has more of a featured role now in WWE. I think comes down to who ever offers him the most money.

I just can’t wait to see if he’s immediately feuding with the Miz or immediately teaming with the Miz.
It’s always so exciting to see which way they go

AEW are also a possibility. Jay, for the good of your career, and nothing at all to do with my opinion, I'm begging you to get that Mania paycheque

I won't post the whole thing, but this was in today's Select report: "It was reported years ago that Jay White was under NJPW contract until 2025, and AEW had interest. However, in speaking with Jay White across several interviews, he told Fightful 'them approaching me and some contract I was on, both things 100% false.'"

Jay would instantly be an upper midcard/main event guy in WWE, no NXT needed. They'd be nuts not to hire him. And honestly? I think he'd be more of a difference maker in WWE right now than AEW, which says a lot about the strength of the AEW roster. Strangely instinctively feel the same. Even with uncertainty in the air, I would ideally see him in WWE, rather than AEW. Love seeing the Haitch comparisons cuz you could clearly see it from the jump with his initial New Japan push/first match at WK. been wanting him to take over in the states for a minute and I can’t lie that the brush in AEW was underwhelming. Brilliant point I read someone on wreddit point out - A lot of his attributes are subtle. And thus go undersung. But he’s got all the tools. Very exciting to see how this develops.
