Santino was all over shows at one point. In costumes. I will agree with you that stuff like "Santina" was f***ing awful television, let alone your first Mania Women's Battle Royal winner, like... I can't believe they thought that was ok, none of it was funny it was... woof. I think Santino had some really, really good moments in his run, the moments where he almost won the Rumble and versus Bryan in the Chamber are standout to me, he really could pull off moments that got the crowd into it. He was overbooked, overexposed, and this was definitely that era with the Cobra Sleeve and all. At least we're well past Santina in this re-watch, that was 2009, but this is when he has that Chamber Moment with Bryan, if Madlibs is able to watch that, it is some top notch stuff, I remember when it happened and people really bit on it. |

That heel turn of Santino’s in 2007 helped get us through some rough f***ing waters right after the Benoit stuff, and the Glamarella pairing up until the face turn was pretty great too. Dude banked a good 18 months of goodwill from that. Sure, a lot of the actual angles in his face run after that was a bit lame, but he generally served his niche being the clown at the circus better than most ever did, and there’s nothing with that.
