As much as a mark out moment it would be to see him at the Rumble or something like that, it would mean he would take up precious Mania main event time and then lose to Roman continuing his title reign

100%
Gotta see that electricity in person one last time.
I’ll complain later after my Mania fan moment.

I like the Rock well enough but I’d rather see Bob Sapp at this point. lol

After the initial mark out of seeing him at Mania again I'd say I wouldn't want him there as a competitor. Especially if he's not ''ring ready''. Also, I'd rather someone else challenge (and beats) Roman at Mania for at least one of the belts.

Nope, no, nein, non. The Rock can only be put back together with used chewing gum and popsicle sticks so many times before he simply can't go in the ring.

Nope. If Roman is wrestling twice I like the idea of Night 1 being Seth, and Night 2 being Cody. If not then it should be Cody for WWE (whomever has it) and Seth for Universal.
Leave Rock out of the wrestling side of things.
If he wants to come back and spend 30 minutes saying nothing, and lighting his name on fire for no reason, by all means do that instead.

Absolutely! It'd be such a big deal, and it'd be a good story tying him to The Bloodline and his family heritage and all that. I love the idea. He either dethrones Roman or loses to him and retires. If Cody is lined up to be the next champion, he is in a great position because he either beats Roman or he beats The Rock, and either would be career-defining moments for the guy.

I didn't want the Rock at Mania 12 years ago, much less now.

my gut says... "meh"
Cool to see him... but he absolutely should not be facing Roman, and him just coming out to cut a nothing promo or squash someone is time that could be given to someone else on the roster to help push them as stars instead of over relying on the past.

Yes, but with conditions.
No question that the match would be a hot item with the crowd hot for it. But, to ask Rock to go anything over 8-10 minutes for a match is asking a lot when you consider his previous performances and the injuries that went along with it. The spectacle in of itself would have to take precedent over match quality and it's storytelling therein, much like Rock-Hogan 20+ years ago.
Plus, not the he needs it, but retiring The Rock from the ring is probably the ultimate rub for Roman. A rub that should be reserved for anyone but Roman at this point, but the ultimate rub nonetheless.

The only part of me that wants The Rock to win the WWE Championship is the inner child that hopes it would lead to the slim chance of him appearing at Money In The Bank in London, but I know it would never happen.

Here's my thing. I didn't watch wrestling when The Rock was active. So I have no emotional attachment to him. When he returned to feud with Cena I... didn't get it. I was fully in Cena's corner in that feud because Cena, to me, was bringing it, and The Rock's promos just sorta sucked to me? I didn't get the hype. I didn't get the "he can control the crowd so well" ect ect. I just didn't get it. And the matches... eh? No strong feelings.
Can't say I've warmed to the idea of having him involved more than a decade later, where he's even less physically capable of making the match good. I've also never enjoyed him as an actor (other than in Be Cool, he was awesome in Be Cool).
I get the desire to do the storyline with him vs The Bloondline because of the family connection. But I just have no interest in it personally.
If he has to be involved, then the best case scenario is that he doesn't wrestle but instead special guest refs or enforces for Reigns vs Rhodes.

The Rock is in my top 40 of all time at least, I felt his ring work was underrated in his prime and he was essentially the late 90’s Dusty Rhodes (both great interviews, big guys who could move quick and sucked the crowds in). That said, nah. At least not if the plans are for him to be in the title scene.

Against Roman in a title match? No. In a nice feel good moment with no real stakes? Sure.

I think the show might be better with a Cody-Roman match (at least in-ring), but I would like to see the Rock-Roman “dream match” at a Mania and now seems like the last real shot.

Yes. But only if he's NOT fighting Roman Reigns for the titles in the main event.
OR, if they have two Rumble winners, and Rock is facing Reigns on one night for one title, with someone else fighting Roman the next night for the other title.
