Between being the major holdouts in the writer's strike, being the major drivers of the writer's strike, and doing more and more stuff to be anti-actor, anti-writer, and anti-consumer, Netflix is really making pirating its content more of the moral choice than ever before.

It’s not like it’s hard to find. They are playing 4D chess by not producing anything worth watching though.

They are playing 4D chess by not producing anything worth watching though. I was gonna ask if Netflix have made anything remotely worth pirating in the last five years. I wasn't impressed by Stranger Things and The Witcher, and I can't think of anything else that is Netflix exclusive that's worth a damn.

They are still making some good stuff... But it's hard to get invested in show if it’s like 50/50 if a show gets beyond it’s first season.
Whoever I do watch Netflix these days.. It's just limited to those one off “limited series” or “anothology” with stories that wrap up after a single season. Cause was getting tired of getting invested in something, only for it to be axed before it could breathe. Or just wait to see if a series continues before I invest my time into it... I know by not watching it when it launches I'm part of the reason for cancellation.. But I don't have time to watch a 10 episode season in one go.. I like to watch at my own pace.
Anyway I don't pay for Netflix in the household I'm in (we have a thing, I pay for Disney+, someone else plays for Netflix and the other a couple of the other cheaper streaming Networks). It's all in one house and one Wifi network so hopefully Netflix does not f*** me here.

I think about the only Netflix originals I've ever particularly cared about are She-Ra, Kakegurui, and Komi Can't Communicate.

The show Home Team is pretty interesting not sure how old it is.

it'll be £4.99 per month for an extra member on uk netflix (just seen the email I got sent at 9:50pm wednesday).
I've had an account since jan 2014 and it's unlikely I'll still have one in jan 2024 as there isnt much that goes on netflix I haven't already watched on another streaming service or have any interest in and the stuff that I've watched is ending this year apart from The Witcher & Wednesday. I've not minded price rises when there was decent stuff on there to watch but that's dwindled more and more with more and more individual streaming services starting up and having the companies shows/films move to them... it's just not worth the price any more.

Sweet Tooth 2 seasons,3rd and final is finished and finishes the story. Never see much mention of it . Based on a Vertigo comic.

The only thing I've been into from Netflix recently is The Sandman, and honestly that's just concerning because I have no faith in Netflix managing to reach the 4 or 5 series needed to complete the comic run.

I keep Netflix for 3 shows and my father uses it often.
But also we got a bigger plan where I can download to my phone or tablet. And other stuff.

However like you say their own behaviour makes it preferable to wait until you know it's worth investing in watching something. Plus it's stupid because some shows success grows over time.

It's quite fascinating to see how Netflix has slowly eaten itself. When it started, password sharing and its originals were really what made it the most popular streaming service. When Stranger Things S1 dropped, it did well but word of mouth really helped it grow and get more viewers.
Now those exact same things are what Netflix is screwing up with. Getting rid of password sharing and swamping the service with originals that are either terrible or likely to be canceled is slowly wrecking the service.
Late stage capitalism and its drive to forever increase profits (and in this case subscription numbers) is a joke. Eventually, everything hits a ceiling. You won't break through that ceiling by giving viewers fewer reasons to subscribe.

Is the extra $8 really worth pissing everybody off? Some people will do anything for a little extra pocket change.

The only things Netflix has been good for ages now are the documentaries (Savile and Waco ones were really well done) and the non-English library (some good South American and Indian stuff beginning to pop up among the usual anime/K-drama fayre) the originals are all rushed, Archive 81, GLOW, 1899 and Mindhunter were baffling cancellations and they cynically delay the few hits they have left (Stranger Things, Squid Game) to get people to resubscribe.
Thinking of keeping Prime and switching from Netflix to Apple TV who have really upped their game recently (stuffy old principles mean I will not subscribe to more than two just for tv shows).

I see Netflix has adopted the cable philosophy of “screw over your loyal customers to make for the customers you drove off”
