It feels like it actually respects me as a fan. Bryan Alvarez put it best when he said that he feels rewarded for paying attention. Matches will feature callbacks to previous match climaxes, angles will benefit from fans remembering context, etc, and it feels like you're getting something extra for being invested. He contrasted this with how WWE (something they've since improved on, granted) had a tendency to blatantly contradict itself and even treat a consistent narrative with disdain at times. Yes, Mick Foley asking Rock, "Didn't you Rock Bottom me last time we were in a ring together?" "No one remembers that." (My example, not his) is funny, but it's also just voicing what usually went unremarked upon.

AEW reminds me of watching Monday Nitros from 1995 to 1998. Those were great times!

I like that it's willing to break with its usual match formula, and that it can have stuff like a throwback catch wrestling match like the one on Dynamite the other week, or an old school strong style match, or a barbed wire deathmatch.
There's a lot of wrestlers I enjoy seeing, and it's won me over on some. I never thought much about Hangman Page before, but now I think he's one of the best babyfaces in the industry, Jungle Boy has a load of upside and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do down the line because he's already improved so much, there's a lot to be excited about.
And I don't have to stump up for Sky Sports to watch it because it's on ITV4.

It's just an easy watch for me. It reminds me of 2002/2003 Raw and Smackdown where there was good TV matches and the shows were only 2 hours so easy to watch and get through.

It has reinvigorated the wrestling landscape...I come off as a vocal AEW critic but the only really I am is because I am so much more intrigued with it all. This is a dream scenario for all of us...An outsider with unlimited funds changing the game for good and bad. It's fascinating. I may hate the notion and idea that i must pick sides or always rah rah to be a part of the team but I would be a hell of a lot more upset if they didn't exist.

Long-term storylines with satisfactory outcomes.
2019-Hangman Page fails to win the World Championship. 2021-Hangman finally succeeds and becomes World Champion.
2021-Jungle Jack Perry wins Casino Battle Royale by eliminating Christian Cage, which leads to a partnership and then a betrayal. 2023-Jungle Jack Perry and Christian will (presumably) have their final battle at Revolution.
2022-Danhausen arrives in AEW. 2024-Danhausen wins World Title!

4 PPVs instead of 12 . Makes each one feel more special.

Lots of fantastic talent. Excellent matches every week. Looser interview - commentating style Britt Baker (like her it not, overexposed or not, she’s a bonafide star and a franchise player) Kenny Omega
Their existence made the entire wrestling world the better for it

While there is an issue with not getting consistent tv time, they don't treat the wrestlers like total jobbers. You may know someone isn't going to win, but they're still given respect to the level that you can buy them as credible going forward

-I like how things the company does make logical sense (I know they don't always do before someone jumps down my throat) -I like how the camerawork doesn't include multiple camera cuts or the zoom in/zoom out thing that WWE does every time a move makes an impact -The company doesn't look too overproduced -I love that this company is a viable alternative -The fact that there's 2 credible companies for fans to watch -The fact that there's 2 viable places for wrestlers to work -They acknowledge history from other companies -They work with other promotions (i.e. New Japan) -There's a variety of match types and styles that the company does EDIT: -I also love that the promos aren't scripted, and the wrestlers talk like people actually talk in real life

-I like how things the company does make logical sense (I know they don't always do before someone jumps down my throat) This is a big thing for me personally, actually. I write a lot, I've done a lot of storytelling to myself and with others, and wrestling has always compelled me with great and fun storylines, and their ability to write and execute them AEW doesn't always land storylines or they might drag some stuff out a bit too long with some feuds, but more often than not, a reason I defend points a lot is because I simply see the logic in what they're trying to do Obviously some peeps do see what they're trying to do and simply do not like that direction, which I think is perfectly fair, but more often than not, AEW does not insult me as a viewer for watching their show and I can see character and storyline progressions even on the Youtube shows when they see fit. Again it's not batting .1000 but if I were to put it in Baseball terms, I'd say AEW is a solid Trea Turner in its three years as a company to date.

To piggyback off of these points (because it's actually exactly what I opened this thread to post), I appreciate how AEW stays logically consistent in its storytelling and history, and doesn't retcon things. Yuta still having beef with Orange Cassidy over how he was treated while with the Best Friends this week being a huge example. Also things like Taz still building up both Brian Cage and Ricky Starks on commentary. I appreciate that the past doesn't get completely stamped out of existence just because story arcs end and people move onto other things. It makes the kayfabe world of AEW feel more real and organic than a lot of other wrestling companies I've watched.
