Us in 2020: "Man, it's great to see Sting again. But with his neck injury, how much is he gonna be able to do?" Sting in 2022: "LOOK AT ME, F***ERS!!! I'M NEW JACK NOW!!! LEROOOOOOOY JENKINS!!!" Us again: "Huh.....didn't see that coming."

Honestly, Sting does it right. He does one big spot per match, then shows up to hit a Scorpion Deathdrop or no-sell being kicked in the face while he's got someone in the Scorpion Deathlock. In the years he's been at AEW, I've never once seen him flat out bury anyone and in THAT locker room, if anybody had a problem doing a job, you'd hear about it.
I'm basically saying that Grandpa Sting is the coolest.

We got to see the Showdown of the Ages. The Irresistible Force against the Immovable Object. And then there was the video that was going around Twitter with Darby and Sting running from car to car, going up and chanting "AEW! AEW! AEW! AEW!" Good times....

I'm grateful that at least AEW isn't part of a clusterf*** of corporate ownership. The only endeavor here is each time TK makes his monthly big announcements. They are though. They're part of the dumpster fire at WB Discovery I think WBD has like a 10% ownership stake in AEW. Which is still worse than 0%, but at least it's not a controlling interest and the company isn't beholden to shareholders. God forbid it ever goes public.

The internet wrestling community is often super divided (except for here, sometimes, which is why I hang around. This place is generally pretty low key.), and a lot of times it seems like the focus gets shifted to chasing the negatives about something that we all constantly watch and love, which is kind of funny if you think about it. I thought it would be cool if we all listed a few reasons, no matter how big or small, that we like AEW. This isn't to shit on WWE in the least. Like what you like, but AEW has really filled a void for me with professional wrestling so I thought this would be a good shift in tone. I'll go first. These are all probably stupid lmao. - I dig that the refs put on gloves when workers gig. - The general production of it is honestly phenomenal, not quite as high as WWE (which by no means needs to be the goal), but you can tell they are trying. Not only is it especially high, it still maintains its own identity. Maybe compare it to how TNA basically tried to go WWE-lite and it just came off cheap looking. - The card is definitely getting better. Throwing RUSH and Danielson on in the middle of this past week's Dynamite was a good idea. I didn't see the quarter hours, so it might not have worked, but it's so smart to put such a high profile match on during the middle of the show to try and keep viewers. - Whoever is in the Go Position talking to the announcers is doing a great job, or MJF is a natural born commentator. During RUSH/Danielson, he went from doing his heel work, into putting over how violent and brutal the match was. Top tier work by whoever is responsible. Anyway, there's more I'm sure I'll add but thanks for coming to the TEDtalk. Thank you for starting this thread!

I don't think there's been a PPV match result that's really pissed me off. Disappointed? Sure, especially in some of the undercard matches. But not outright "f*** this company" seething anger.

It always feels like there’s a reason for something happening. With very few exceptions, storylines are built on actual emotion and logic. MJF might be an edgelord tryhard at times, but it’s usually engaging seeing him interact with wrestlers up and down the card, from his peers to the modern day legends he idolized as a kid.
And that circumvents the misery booking, since your dominant heel champion has new layers revealed with each new opponent.

They're part of the dumpster fire at WB Discovery They are dealing with that dumpster fire, but they aren't owned by it. WB Discovery still has to play ball with AEW, instead of just telling them what to do unchallenged.

The heels will look strong, but there’s usually a point to it and isn’t just for the sake of heat. We know they’ll eventually be toppled and humbled by a face.

I've questioned some AEW booking decisions, but none have made me angry or disillusioned to the point I've considered quitting. I never feel like AEW are doing anything to spite me or piss me off.

I’ve been down on them for much of this year but as long as they’ve got Bryan and Kenny they’ll have my interest.

Going off of this week, I loved the JAS/Outcast crossover they did. I can be meh on both factions at times, but one of the things I've wanted more of going back to the beginning of AEW were men's and women's angles feeling more equal and even crossing over on occasion which is what we have gotten. Melodramatic? Yes. But it was cool to see nonetheless.

I could make a huge list of all the things I love, at some point I probably will because the company has completely reignited my passion for wrestling when I was pretty certain it was long gone, but a couple in particular feel relevant right now.
I love that even when they have shows where they don't necessarily get everything right like this week that the missteps seem to have happened with good intentions and there were loads of examples of it this week. Like, the screwy finish in the Main Event is presumably them trying a different way of getting to the match they want rather than just each competitor winning, I don't feel like it's the company spitting in my face. The overdone melodrama in the Britt segment wasn't my cup of tea but again I appreciated what they were trying to do, listening to the fans by giving the women a totally different angle to what we've got every other week and adding way more heat than expected to Jericho/Cole quite early in their feud. Hobbs losing the title already, bit of a shame but they gave us Arn Anderson and a really good hoss match in the process. Could Jay White have faced someone else and won more decisively? Sure, but it just felt like Tony wanted to give people a cool match, something totally different to any other Jay White match anyone would have seen before. And finally the four pillars segment at the start, again wasn't quite to my taste but they're trying to legitimise three young guys as main eventers all at the same time and I've got a lot of time for that. There seemed to be good intentions behind everything and that feels like the case way more often than not.
On a similar note some people really shit on this weeks show, which is their prerogative, but to me it had way too much on it that I liked (4 of the 5 matches and the Elite/BCC/Takeshita stuff in particular) to think it was even close to a bad show even with the stuff I didn't like, in the months I've been watching and all the shows I've watched back I couldn't honestly say I've sat through an episode of Dynamite where I thought it was shit, it's been unbelievably refreshing how consistent they are in putting on a compelling show, and that goes for the PPVs even more so. There were a number of years I watched wrestling every week, I guess out of habit and nostalgia, and didn't truly enjoy much for months at a time, I now hardly ever don't enjoy a show, and that's anything from a PPV to an episode of Dark, so I've got a LOT of love for AEW for that.

Dynamite, ROH, and Rampage entertain me every week. It's as simple as that.

Without AEW I wouldn't know about half the wrestlers I do, or love them just as much
People can come in, be themselves, win people over by being themselves, and get a chance on a major stage, and I am glad they will continue to do that and potentially do that on another two new hours of television in the future
I'm glad they have continued to give some of the best undiscovered to a large majority of fans talent that platform, sometimes with it leading to contracts and big breaks.
