I respect that they seem to be resisting doing a lot of multi-person matches just for the sake of getting people onto the card, but at the same time, that means a lot of people are going to be missing out unless they do the battle royals again. I do feel that Iyo and Dakota should be on the main card since they're part of a heavily featured act with Bayley, because next year's Mania can't be guaranteed if one of them suddenly gets injured close to that time.

I'd be shocked if they are wrestling on the main card at this rate, if the report on the previous page is true. Triple H messed up REAL bad with Damage CTRL, and to be honest considering how hard it is to recover on the main roster, I find it hard that Iyo or Dakota are going to be in an improved situation going forward. Especially with the card as top heavy as it is. Becky, Bianca, Asuka, Charlotte, and Ronda all spring to mind. It also doesn't sit right with me that Lita is going to show up, potentially win the tag titles next week, and lock Dakota and Iyo out of the Mania card either. Nothing against Lita, but this is the kind of garbage X-Pac was talking about, a legend showing up and getting put over younger stars who are there week in and week out, who are going to be on TV way more often. Worst part is that Lita's return is likely just to put over Ronda, who doesn't need it at this point because she's regressed massively in pretty much every aspect, and has no upside at all anymore, as no one in the mainstream really cares about her anymore.

I wonder if we get Lita and Becky vs. Ronda and Shayna vs. Trish and Bayley w/ Damage CTRL or a four way with Io and Dakota. That could be fun. Bayley leaving Damage CTRL to power trip with Trish against a face Io and Dakota as part of a match with a Lita and Becky team and a chance to really feature Shayna is something I'm all for. Wish there was a way to involved Natalya, Shotzi and Liv, maybe something post-match or one of them wins the battle royale.

The Observer does NOT say that definitively. It’s unclear, it just seems like Meltzer piecing things together. Here’s the quote:

If this turns out to be true:
Man the women that HHH has either brought back or called up have been treated like shit lately, or just as fodder for other women on the roster, as I've brought up before
The one exception had really been Damage CTRL and now they're about to drop the belts to a hodgepodge nostalgia tag team, they won't even get a Mania Spot, because they MUST have Ronda somewhere
This blows. This could have easily been a triple threat for the tag belts and no one would have batted an eye. This whole faction's starting to become a huge swing and a miss for HHH, especially since it was one of the first big motions of change for his regime.

Keep in mind that if they drop the tag titles, its likely they aren't on the Mania card at all, which means Bayley gets screwed over for a third year in a row. And in the case of Dakota and Iyo, it shows that Triple H really doesn't care about them. Which is baffling since both Dakota and Iyo were significantly more popular and well liked than some of the women Triple H WANTED to get over in NXT (Tegan, Raquel, etc). So it wouldn't shock me if he has an issue with that. If they are all shoved off the card for a nostalgia team, I wouldn't be even remotely mad if they walked out on the company similar to what Sasha and Naomi did. And it would all be WWE's fault for not treating them with respect and booking them like actual threats instead of jokes, and having them put over Becky and a legend who don't need the titles. Because it's very obvious Triple H doesn't see Iyo, Dakota, and Bayley as main event players anymore, and only "good hands to put over the company chosen ones".

There's no evidence whatsoever that Triple H has some weird resentment towards Iyo and Dakota. If so, they wouldn't be on the show period and Raquel, Tegan, etc. would be far more featured than they are right now. Is there a chance they reset after Mania and try something else with Iyo or Dakota? Yeah. I don't think this was some weird intentional master plan. Nor do I think they've been "disrespected." They've been featured more regularly than many other women on the roster. Bayley's whole story has been "trying to find her way on to Mania" just like Becky. She'll be on the card.

She'll be on the card. He wouldn't resent them or they wouldn't be the most pushed callups or returns of all the women he's brought back to date. But something has clearly gone wrong with this faction and their push. It just like... died out, as they feuded with Bianca and she destroyed them, and they haven't recovered, and now it feels like they've fallen out of favor, whether that's other people in HHH's team, or the whole "Vince is regaining creative power" thing, who knows. I'm not worried about Bayley missing Mania, but that would regulate Iyo and Dakota to ringside lackeys if this all turns out to be true, and that'd just suck.

I do think it's time for a reset and wouldn't be surprised if Iyo goes face after Mania. My guess is the women's tag title match is a fatal four way on night two - Trish/Bayley vs. Becky/Lita vs. Ronda/Shayna and the winner of a match on night one between Damage CTRL, Liv/Natalya or some of the other women on the show. I don't think they're going to leave that many folks off the card.

Dmg Cntrl has been the most oddly booked group of anyone under HHH.
They debut to alot of fanfare because they are all beloved by alot of people.
They immediately get ran off despite having the 2 on 3 advantage the night they debut.
They have IYO get womped on for 95% of her debut main roster match the very next night
Bianca then proceeds to just stomp through them pretty much on her own
They briefly potato the womens tag titles back and forth with Alexa and Asuka
After getting away from Bianca they immediately get stomped out by Becky all by herself
They proceed to finally have some half way decent booking but it some damages Becky in alot of peoples eyes
Now they are on cusp of not only dropping titles they have not defended in 100+ days but also being completely locked out of Mania despite being heavly featured and feuding with the companies biggest female star.
Dmg Cntrls booking has been just a complete road of WTF are we even doing here? is splitting them up really do anything for them other than Bayley? I don't have much faith in that because both Dakota and IYO deserve way better than this.

To add onto this, don't forget how Damage CTRL lost the tag tournament finals to Raquel/Aliyah for literally no other reason other than an awful swerve.

Tyler Breeze really needs to stop booking Raw this way.

I’ve wanted Lita and Trish as tag champs since the titles came out. But I’m glad we’ll get some form of Rhonda vs Becky.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we get Lita/Becky vs. Trish/Bayley. And then a separate tag title match of Damage CTRL vs. Ronda/Shayna.
Alternatively, could see Bayley vs. Trish one-on-one and a tag title match with Shayna/Ronda vs. Becky/Lita and either Damage CTRL is in that match as a triple threat or they second Bayley to the ring for her match.

I 🙏for Liv. I think night one they’re gonna do something like Liv/Raquel vs. Natalya/Tegan vs. Damage CTRL vs. Carmella and Nikki with the winners going on to a 4 way tag title match the next night with Becky/Lita, Bayley/Trish and Ronda/Shayna.

I don't like the sound of this. And if it leads to Damage CTRL breaking up, I have no faith Triple H will do anything with them anyway.

They're just 'Bianca is really strong, guys!' showcases (and not disputing she is strong, but I'd argue they do it to the point that it takes away the suspense and it's boring now), and that's a tough spot for debuting opponents.

I'm really not sure how anyone could look at Io's treatment and booking in NXT, with her 300 day title reign and her megastar presentation through that whole urn, and say she wasn't someone Triple H wanted to get over, let alone was being resented for being more over than Raquel.
