Maybe Shinsuke goes next? I swear he wasn't injured. Worked in Japan. Didn't do Rumble. And has nothing for Wrestlemania. As long as Shinsuke gets to surf all day, he doesn't care if he's being used or not.

I’ve seen WWE drop the ball on someone Day One but it really came off quickly they didn’t know what to do with her the moment they signed her. I still don’t see the logic in signing her especially since Io was fired, Satomura was plying her trade in an East London TV studio and there wasn’t anyone around her who could work her style.

The thing to remember is that she was signed in 2019 or something, but she couldn't relocate for like two years because of the pandemic. She was signed for a notably different NXT than the one she actually arrived to.

I got the vibe they lost interest in her pretty quickly and that continued no matter who was booking her in NXT Word is that HBK didn't really like her and saw her as a flop and someone who has no future, I guess. The only reason she didn't seem to have a future is because they gave her a stupid gimmick. So, it's HBK's fault for his own perception of her.

By all accounts she faced some nasty bullying from some in the NXT crowd and wasnt happy, and despite the Anime style character being one I could see getting over, WWE didn't seem to have much confidence in it.
Together, that adds up to a shitty time for anyone, so not surprised she is opting to leave.

I get that but also she wasn’t going to be facing the same people with a lot of them being called up in 2019 and during 2020 when they needed to do that because they fired everyone else.

Thought I saw somewhere he was actually considering going back to Japan after his NOAH appearance though He's been off TV ever since and they moved Boogs to a singles guy, maybe he has the itch for one final meaningful run or something

Its interesting to note that Ikeman Jiro is potentially gone as well. He hasn't appeared on TV since December. And hasn't wrestled since then either. And he apparently isn't injured. It adds fuel to the speculation that HBK is refusing to use anyone who doesn't speak fluent English. Which if so, is incredibly awful on his part.

It adds fuel to the speculation that HBK is refusing to use anyone who doesn't speak fluent English. Which if so, is incredibly awful on his part. I don't know if calling that decision incredibly awful is entirely fair. In American pro wrestling, you have to be able to talk, or have someone who can talk for you. This is especially true in a company like WWE, who rely heavily on backstage segments and vignettes. There are exceptions, but they are VERY few and far between. In fact, the last one I can think of who became a major player without talking/having a mouthpiece was Goldberg, and let's face it, none of these folks are another Goldberg. And even then, he did it in WCW, where there was less of an emphasis on that stuff at the time. In WWE, early Goldberg very likely would have flopped. The real issue here is refusing to use managers for folks who can't talk. I highly doubt HBK would have an issue pushing someone who can't talk if they would give him someone to pair with them who CAN talk. But WWE has been so dead set against managers for so long that the existence of dedicated managers in wrestling as a whole has dwindled considerably, making it even harder to actually hire someone decent. So, while I agree that it's a bad situation, I don't think HBK has any real malice or racism behind his thinking, it's more that there really isn't a way for him to prepare anyone who can't talk for life in WWE. Or maybe he's a racist asshole, I dunno.

Nah. As long as WWE wants to call itself an international brand (they are doing a lot of international shows over the next few months, and they want to do more stuff internationally), refusing to use people whose first language isn't English to their fullest potential is enough to warrant calling them awful. And Sarray was absolutely not used to her fullest potential. There's no room for argument there, especially with how much HBK sabotaged her in NXT. Giving her that awful magical schoolgirl gimmick, and then when it looked like she was going to get momentum from a feud/match with Meiko, cancelling it at the last minute.
And yes, I'm placing pretty much all of the blame on HBK, because he's been pretty explicit that he has full creative control in NXT and makes all of the decisions. Hell, I'll go one further. As long as HBK is in charge of talent recruitment/training, no foreign talent should even consider looking at WWE. Especially if their first language isn't English. And it's been proven you don't need to speak fluent English to get over with American audiences either. Look at Asuka right now, and Iyo while she was in NXT. And even KAIRI got over.

Oh we’re just jumping straight to HBK is a racist. Ok. Lol
Honestly I feel like shit happens. She came in at a really bad time. Signed right at the pandemic starting up for the black and gold NXT then she finally shows up right when the whole brand is being torn down and rebuilt around wacky gimmicks and new PC talent. (Which in the beginning was definitely a call from on high given how hamfisted it was)
She just got lost in the shuffle. Bad timing all around. I don’t think there was anything explicitly malicious about it.

Just one of those bad fits, I guess. I'm going to miss her theme song! Yeah, it happens. I enjoyed her transformation gimmick and thought Chase U and her had fun interactions, but shit happens. Maybe she'd come back one day if it's a better fit for everybody.

Very sad that this didn't work out but glad for her as the WWE environment just seems far to toxic and horrible for her.Honestly I think WWE should just stop signing Japanese talent as bar Asuka, they just don't know how to use them at all well.

Not a shock, she was snake bit from the start thanks to the COVID delay. She'd probably be on the main roster or at the top of NXT if not for that.

You don't need to speak fluent English to get over in the United States because other folks have made it work. You can think something in theory won't work but if it gets over, it gets over.

As long as Shinsuke gets to surf all day, he doesn't care if he's being used or not. He'll be interesting to watch in a couple other ways: if WWE just keeps him on a nice contract and he gets to cash in with minimal work, I absolutely would not blame him for sticking around. But if he ends up leaving because he still wants to be more active in the ring, he could still end up, say, returning to NJPW while still living in the US - both KENTA and KUSHIDA left WWE and still live in the States, for example, and that's something that's easier for some talent to do now since NJPW has fairly regularly scheduled shows outside of Japan (KENTA just won the Strong Openweight title, which is defended outside of Japan), plus they can take advantage of NJPW's relationships with AEW, ROH, and Impact to work other stateside promotions. So yeah, no clue what Shinsuke will look to do, but he could conceivably return to NJPW without having to go back to Japan full time.

Things change and people's priorities change all the time. I get the idea that they're holding him until Mania is over but he's also a huge star and it's not as if RAW/SmackDown are overloaded with that right now. Plus it's odd that they would just separate him and Boogs given they were pretty over together. It may be nothing but it feels weird to me.
