Does anyone here still own a portable cd player, or even a portable tape player? I used to have a couple of walkmans but they died on me. Still have my discman but I dont think I've used it since at least 2019.

I have a portable tape player that converts tapes to digital but you can use it as a pseudo Walkman.

I'm annoyed that it's a genre of devices that's essentially dead except for low-end stuff and refurbished iPods, because frankly when I'm running my phone is still too big and cumbersome even with an armband or what have you. I've been clinging to the refurbished iPods I have and the last-gen Shuffle and Nano that I have, though the Shuffle seems as if its battery is completely gone so it's essentially bricked now.

I'm still using my Zune HD and you can rip it from my cold, dead hands.

I have an iPod Classic with upgraded storage capacity. It has 28,000 songs on it, and I add more regularly. I don't see myself replacing it with a phone or cloud device anytime soon.

Still using a 6th Gen iPod Touch. I kinda wish I wasn't locked into the iTunes locked ecosystem (makes it hard for me to back up what I have on there without an overpriced 3rd party app), but I wouldn't want to use my phone as my music player.

I got an iPod touch I still use. I use it while I run and lift and I damn sure don't wanna replace it. Don't need to drain my phone's battery while I listen to music, don't have to worry about needing service to stream music, and I don't have to worry about the music I like being available to stream

I got an iPod yet. Stays in the car. I mostly listen to podcasts when I’m driving but it’s there for whenever I feel like it.

I have a CD player. I use it to listen to music as I fall asleep. A CD runs about an hour and then it shuts off. The headphones don't fall out and I don't get tangled up and pull a big stereo off a shelf in my sleep. I listen to music juat a notch about 0 so I'm blowing my ears off.

My iPod Classic died on me back in 2017. It had up to 23,000 songs last time I checked.
Ever since October, I dug up my old Sony Walkman CD player. I started using it at the time. It still works, but I have to check the battery power, especially if I go out in cold weather or else the battery power runs out quicker.

I have an iPod Nano 6th gen, the little touch screen one that’s like 2” big in a drawer at home. Haven’t used it in a few years tho, not even sure if I still have a 30 pin charger. And I’m pretty sure I have a off brand discman tucked away somewhere

I have an MP3 player that is probably like 13 years old. I got it for very cheap, yet it still works, running off of a single AA battery. Or AAA? I haven't needed to replace it in a while.
Anyway, it's basically just a thumbdrive with a little screen that tells you the track name, and you plug in headphones as it has no speakers.

My first MP3 player was like that, it was like $40 and had 512MB of storage. It was a piece of shit, barely used it, and it kinda shied me away from MP3 players for a few years until I got an iPod Touch Gen 2 when they first came out

The brand is Emerson, and it's got 2 GB of memory. I am not sure if it was on clearance or something when I got it, but I am positive I paid 20 bucks at most for it, whatever discount place I found it.
