JESUS. F***ING. CHRIST. That is like borderline assassination of a character who is ready to depart the company soon. Except he's here for years. Reminds me of when they buried the shit outta Goldberg and Lesnar at Wrestlemania 20 because they were both leaving for real. Cody is staying and there's no point in doing this to him, except it's one big cruel joke by Dwyane, Ari and whoever else is approving this at TKO.

Yeah if they go through with this, then Rock is going to be the biggest heel at Mania. Roman will probably get cheered. I kinda want to see it now. I think it's far more likely that they just boo everything, and chant for Cody. Roman's lost a ton of steam since last year, and it's becoming abundantly clear that hte majority of people do not want to see the Rock in this position.

How old was Rock during Cena II, early 40s? He had major injuries due to his age and how many PEDs he must have been on making muscle too big for the surround tissue THEN. Add almost 15 years & the man better be really careful. This is one thing I think is probably difficult for a lot of attitude era fans to understand. It's been SO f***ing long that even his RETURN was thirteen f***ing years ago. Like obviously fans can understand that Rock is yesterday's man - but the extent to which he's yesterday's man is insane. WM 19 was 21 years ago. Imagine the start of the attitude era, the show more popular than it has been in years, and some fella from 1976 shows up to main event. Austin is shoved aside while Tyson and Michaels watch Bruno Sammartino shuffle down the aisle

ars. Reminds me of when they buried the shit outta Goldberg and Lesnar at Wrestlemania 20 because they were both leaving for real. I mean Brock and Goldberg kinda did it to themselves >_> That match would have gotten shit on even if Brock and Goldberg were staying. It was a terribly booked match... no one wanted to see the two of them stare at each other for like 5 minutes before going for a collar and elbow tie up... that gets broken and then goes for another 5 minutes of nothing.

Just imagine this... it's the 1998 Royal Rumble and Stone Cold just won. He's gunning for HBK for what will be an epic show down between the 1# face and the 1# heel in the company.
A week later 51ish-something year old Sargent Slaughter suddenly gets the match vs HBK at Mania for the title and Stone Cold voluntarily decides to cash in his rumble victory prize to go wrestle the Rock for the IC Title again.
Hell this sounds so bad we might be watching WCW right now.

Maybe TK’s announcement is the glorious return of EVP Cody after he sits out his WWE contract.

What you're describing is now WWE's Main Event Style and I've been assured it's good and Roman Reigns is having good matches by reciting the quintessence of dust in between hope spots

Again not even Slaughter... he was an 80's wrestler... it's closer to like Backlund a 70's wrestler coming out of retirement and pushing Austin aside.

Yeah when you put this stuff in these terms, it really shows how dry that Attitude Era well is. The Rock was my favorite wrestler when I was 13 during his last year as a full time wrestler. I turn 37 four weeks after Wrestlemania.

I was kinda aiming for a dude that was roughly the Rock's age now. I was originally going to say Superstar Billy Graham but that sounded like too much of a reach. Or was it... lol. I'm not used to this level of batshit stuff actually happening. Last night's booking felt like a kid playing with his action figures.

Sure, but the money line speaks loudest. Can't say Rock isn't a draw. DC can 😏 I saw Black Adam in theaters, I can say that. I saw Black Adam in theaters as well, and they really should have gone all in on Black Adam being a "destroy your oppressors" type. Would have tapped into what people wanted from a Black Adam movie that much better.
