Fans tonight at the house show in Knoxville booed Rock when he was on the screen. Somehow, someway, this company managed to turn him heel.

Now you guys are seeing what happens when a corporation runs wrestling. Logan Paul and the Rock alone put more eyes on the product than 10,000 Cody’s “finishing the story” would ever. But, give Cody credit, he’s gotten that over. I checked out social media last night and that had to be 90% of the posts. Your first point is wrong, especially considering long term. What good is a casual glance when something like this makes your newer fans here the other 11 months of the year tune out? People leave shows with unsatisfying endings. That's across the board in all entertainment.

Well, in case you doubted the possibility that The Rock himself might get a negative reaction... And, holy shit, that's KNOXVILLE. The wrestler mayor town that's historically very easy to please.

Yep, now it's just a matter of time before it changes at this point.

I wonder what this is going to do to Cody's brain.

You can tell what a schlub-ass loser Cody really is and how REAL STARS AND LOGAN PAUL need to fill the void and cut him out of his spot, because backlash to this has only been the top trend all day. Absolutely piddly pathetic nothing of a footprint for sure, Cody should honestly be thanking Dwayne and shining his shoes for giving WWE this windfall payday of attention.

Hogan was 48 when he faced The Rock in 2002. He could still go at the same level as ever and was the most over wrestler on the planet: not only that but he knew what he was good for and put guys over like hell. Hogan in 2002 had the benefit of 1) WWE tapping into earnest nostalgia for the first time ever. Prior to buying WCW, anything that happened more than three month's before any given show might as well have not existed. This was the first time people could relive something they loved, something really needed after 2) the 9/11 terrorist attacks the previous September. Across the board in America we wanted to feel safe and have a familiar warmth of a more innocent age, and Hogan going classic Hogan was just want we needed to escape. The Rock didn't even get the mic on Friday to do classic Rock schtick, which may promo-wise have eased some of the harsh burn we're feeling today. We were supposed to be satisfied with the "idea" of The Rock than The Rock actually performing. I don’t think that last part would have helped atleast for me personally. As soon as Cody said “not at wrestlemania” I mentally tuned out

He can literally tell everyone to f*** off and do what he wants. This guy thought the DCU should be rewritten around him, sane for fast and the furious if you think he's above telling fans to f*** off you haven't paid attention to him in recent times.

Well, in case you doubted the possibility that The Rock himself might get a negative reaction... I have no doubt they will dig their heels in if only to spite the negative reaction. Basing this on..well, forever. Let the f***ing thing burn to the ground.

And the thing is, there's at least one roster member in that Fightful report who was quoted as saying Dwayne's expression showed he realized he made a mistake. Man has a massive ego but if this report is true it may be forced to step back real fast.

I really doubt even in the face of this Rock is going to blink. He's so consistently deluded and arrogant, especially of late, that I could see him thinking he can turn this around with a promo or two.

Gotta give WWE credit for turning Cody Rhodes into a pariah.
People are gonna be singing the lyrics to Kingdom next time Rock tries to speak.
