Vibe's settling in that they'll probably try to find some way to backtrack on this. Problem is, again, damage is done. If this had been done any other way it'd be a simple matter of Cody coming out on Raw or SD and just saying "Hey, what the hell, I hadn't publicly made my choice, yet!", but instead you had Cody go out and introduce Rock, himself. You can't walk that back 100%, probably not even 50%, in kayfabe he willingly went out there and did that. I think you could make it work if you maybe just run with the idea that he had a momentary lapse in confidence now that his goal was in his grasp, thinking about how it was yanked away last time, but now he's come to his senses. It's flimsy but Cody could sell it. Have Punk talk/slap some sense into Cody by telling him to not let what happened with him to happen once again.

I’m still of the belief they’ll just do what they want to make the TV show look like whatever they want. This is the first post-pandemic era issue where they can just pipe in crowd noise, tell everybody to f*** off and collect their checks. Like yes, maybe they’ll change it up, but I won’t be surprised in the slightest if they just stay the course. I don't think it's a WWE decision. I'm not certain they would have the power to remove Rock from the match even if they wanted to. I think ultimately it comes down to Rock making the decision. His public image has taken a beating the last two years and the WWE Universe has always been the booty call he can go back to for support. I don't think his film career can afford having this audience turn on him.

Eeeh the better would have Cody realized he had a moment of self sabotage, that when one is close to their dreams is human to sabotage themselves with the anxiety.
Honestly the only person that would make any sense to give him a pep talk is in another company

Meanwhile Solo happy no one is talking about him anymore..... I'm out of the loop what happened with Solo? Oh I just mean because people were tired of him interferring in the finishes of matches the last year, most recently at the Rumble. With the Rock in the match now, I highly doubt Solo will be the finish once again.

He might fail to help Roman or he might turn on him, but he'll be there for sure.

Can someone explain the 'Black Adam' thing to me, because I don't read comics and have no idea why this was a big deal.

Say Rock vs. Roman happens and the former gets seriously hurt two minutes in, what will the bootlickers say? "He's so brave for finishing the match he did this for us uwu" Bootlickers don't 'uwu' Bootlickers use bigoted insults.

I hope he has a soft collar neck brace handy because he might have a bad case of whiplash. All those stupid spots really must have obliterated Ricochet's backbone Trev is so cornball, George Bluth burned his hand trying to make him.

You could have it so that Cody has been gaslit by Rock that it was the right thing to do for the fans who've wanted Rock/Roman for years ("This is the last opportunity for this match to happen, you can face Roman anytime! You can add prestige to the other title then still get this one later"). Then Cody realizes after the reactions that fans actually love him more than they do the idea of Rock/Roman and changes his mind. Have like a backstage segment with Cody trying to talk to Rock but Rock brushes him off to further cement Cody's decision.
That all seems like pure fantasy stuff though because it would make Rock a heel in the story. Would he (intentionally?) allow himself to look like the bad guy? Does he even ever play a villain in any of his movies these days? What we need is egotistical heel Hollywood Rock but I don't know if his ego at this point wants to be anything but the conquering hero.

Can someone explain the 'Black Adam' thing to me, because I don't read comics and have no idea why this was a big deal. The Black Adam movie was basically being used as a way for Dwayne to strongarm WB into making him a huge player in the DCEU if not in charge of the whole thing. The movie flopped hard but he kept insisting it was a huge success using really selective numbers. Then WB chose James Gunn and Peter Safran to run DC and I don't think the Rock's ego ever recovered.

Can someone explain the 'Black Adam' thing to me, because I don't read comics and have no idea why this was a big deal. Taken from Reddit: In the comics Black Adam is a Shazam baddie who had a brief stint in the JSA where writer Geoff Johns developed him slightly. Dwayne Johnson has been in talks with DC for decades about a Black Adam film, but has seemed to have made changes that deviate from the source material solely to position himself in a more favourable standing, i.e. making him an anti hero in name only, & cutting any substantial ties to Shazam beyond basic world building. He's well known for having contracts that determine how many fights he can lose or how immasculated he can be in a film. He seems to have brought his own team of yes men onto the project to make sure that his creative demands were met. And the post credits teases him fighting Superman. Which many people read as an ego move by Johnson to have him beat up the most iconic DC hero for the sake of lifting himself and Black Adam up. Outside of the movie itself Johnson promoted the film heavily, and behind the scenes, prior to release, pitched a new DC film plan focused around Black Adam as the soft relaunch movie, with his character as a central figure that would connect future films. When the film performed to a mediocre box office, there were reports he was skewing the numbers in meetings to make it appear more successful. The most recent thing is confirmation that the Shazam film crew wanted to tease a crossover, but Johnson refused in favour of the Superman thing, despite them being intrinsically connected in the comics, which people have fairly interpreted as Johnson seeing himself and his project as of higher value than Shazam, and a move to soothe his ego by changing from the rooted source material to something that'll make the character seem bigger deal, despite Black Adam and Superman as characters having little to no connection. Or even better explained here: bestlifeonline.com/dwayne-johnson-shazam-news/
