I had this weird moment where I felt bad for Hunter before I remembered this bozo probably covered up his old man’s criminal tendencies, so, meh. Just scumbags out scumbagging each other. Cody is carnie AF but I respect the dude for putting in the work to be the company’s QB. The more I hear, the more I think Rock is walking out with the belt, they do some sort of weird thing where Rock takes over the Bloodline and Roman goes face to get it back. And what an absolute shit way to end the Bloodline. The dude that has been a vile piece of garbage only turning face because family booted him from his group. Pass. Hard pass.

What gets me is why keep this deal from creative? At the very least if creative knew they could have had The Rock win the Rumble. Would it suck ass? Oh undoubtedly, but we’d have more time to mull it over, come to terms with being screwed out of the story we wanted to see play out. And more importantly The Rock wouldn’t just be blindsiding everyone by popping in after the Rumble, thus not invalidating one of the biggest matches and events in the company’s arsenal! Cody could win the Chamber in Perth to get the shot at Seth even. They really took the worst possible path to get here and screwed over:
1) Cody 2) Seth 3) Drew/Sami/GUNTHER/Whoever else could have been slotted into Mania against Seth instead of Cody 4) The remotest chance any of the women had at main eventing Night 1.
Basically screwed the entire roster really.

Now his match is gonna get booed out of the building, and the only cheers will come when the biggest villain in wrestling the last few years (Roman himself) is on offense.

Anyone else see Thanos when you look at the back of Dwayne's head? Or maybe Thanos meets Homer Simpson?

Is Dave suggesting that they didn't even tell Vince McMahon? I'm not sure I buy that story. Vince and the Rock are friends, he has been very good to the Rocks family for the past forty years, and on January 3rd there would have been no reason to screw Vince or anyone over. They all posed for a picture to celebrate the Netflix deal the week of the Rumble.
Between this and the troll Rhodes/Rollins rivalry video, this is becoming over the top.

I made a meme in Matt Cardona's wrestling figure Facebook group that somehow got to John Cena and Cena posted it. Still one of the most surreal moments of my life. Cena posts stuff like this because he wants to hear from the people. I feel like this is kind of his sly way of letting people just wreck his post with "We Want Cody" comments.

The heartbreaking thing of all this…It means we’ll never know peace in this fandom. Vince looks like he may finally be about to pay the piper for his sins, and in from the blue is this Hollywood hot air balloon literally booking himself into a WrestleMania world title match main event. This may be the only time he ever does this, but once is all you need for the seed of possibility to always be in everyone’s mind that he’ll do it every time.

So rock, ari Emmanuel, and nick khan made a deal and it sounds like they didn’t tell anyone including HHH. If that's true I legit have no idea how Cody Rhodes can be such a pro about this... the dude is a bigger man than most to still be doing his job like he is, it's simply insane the amount of shit they have forced him to endure since he signed there after doing nothing but what is supposed to be the right thing. Borderline sadistic tbh.

Borderline sadistic tbh. As angry as people are right now, and I'm sure Cody is heartbroken too, the reality is that he's still getting a stupid fat paycheck after this is all over. I'm sure there will come a day when we hear his true thoughts, but unless he somehow hasn't signed a contract extension in the last month or two, we're not going to hear about it for awhile.

Borderline sadistic tbh. It’s crazy that him rolling with the blows and staying composed basically amounts to him not being enough of an IRL “belt mark” to be super upset about it. Which is funny because “I’m such a belt mark I want to win the specific one Dad didn’t win” is like 90% of this on-screen story that has to be finished.

I would note that, if that latest report is true, then it also completely takes Punk's injury off the board.
Rock's move wasn't in reaction to that, wasn't an attempt to save the show or anything. That was just an unfortunate accident, it's not an excuse/justification that applies, and Rock had this already planned weeks earlier.

Which would then mean they had another plan for Cody Rhodes at Mania? Not against Reigns, Rock, Rollins, Punk, Gunther, nor Lesnar. Cody Rhodes versus Omos?

Probably the start of another "blood feud" where he'd beat Orton. Then they'd decide they need Reigns to hold the title longer and he'd lose.

I listened to Observer Radio with Meltzer and I really didn’t get the sense Meltzer was really getting the story straight. The things he was saying did not really make sense (and I don’t think he ever said Triple H wasn’t told about Rock).

But that still doesn't account for the planned Rumble win. Dave says Punk wasn't going to win the Rumble. Rhodes would win the Rumble and then not choose any Mania main event? This just doesn't add up. If anything, the deal being made on January 3rd while also giving Cody the Rumble win would suggest they are or were planning a triple threat.
