Literally just different categories of people buying the same t-shirt design is stomping all over everything else and people are defending this like "no but Rock will sell merch" it's wild.

To me the less interesting thing is Rock only having one entry on there and more that Roman has none.
At this point dude kind of feels like an afterthought which is insane for the 10,000 year eternal champion that's crushed everyone in the company.

Rock probably hasn’t done cardio since the Obama administration, I’m almost cheering for the match to happen because it’s going to be terrible and watching the fans urinate all over it will Make it an absolute classic

This whole Cody hoopla seems more of a stand of people using their voices to say what they want to see, but there’s so much goodwill with the booking and the show is still so much better than under Vince that it definitely feels different than it did when people were stopping watching the product in droves or when people protested for Bryan and the thought was that people might actually stop watching if they don’t pivot.

Genuine question - if they do go ahead with Rock vs Reigns as the WM main event, how will the live crowd react? Will they cheer Roman or shit over the entire match? I don't know what the general vibe is towards Roman these days so I wondered if he'd be cheered or not. It's Philly, they're gonna at the very least cause an extreme mixed reaction but I'm thinking it could be Lesnar/Goldberg levels of apathy The only thing that might mute the reaction a bit is it being in an Open Air stadium. Honestly it won't even matter, like it'll be hilarious but they'll still get their dramatic photos staring at each other in front of 60k+ to plaster all over the media, and that's all they care about.

And the last time he was active, he was still a far cry from his younger self, physically and mic-wise.

Well that's the thing, he's crushed everyone, the story that's actually about HIM and the Bloodline has been beaten to death apart from the very very final act which isn't a part of this. What's left to say about Roman that's actually about him? All the hype is behind who beats him now, he's done everything so that's where there's any story. Like how at WM14 HBK was an afterthought, all the hype was Austin, how a couple of times in AEW already, the champ finished their story, so the attention was on the story of the next guy.

He was hurt in both of his Wrestlemania matches with Cena and that was over a decade ago. It's his risk to take, but it sure seems like he has an abnormally high chance of injury in this match being a nearly 52 year old man carrying an absurd amount of muscle mass built mostly for show.

My genuine hope is that he has the world's best trainers that just focus him on cardio for the next few months. I'm not expecting him to have an amazing match, but I'm sure the dude will do what he can to not get embarrassed.

He seems to have cut a lot of mass/weight since his September Smackdown appearance so that will help. I do think a triple threat would help him survive without being gassed (and also appease the crowd).

Cody with 5 of the top 10 selling shirts. Rock in at number 10. Cody is freaking massive, you gotta change course WWE. Give Cody the match and title at Mania. We make fun of the neck tattoo, but holy shit is it great branding.

It's hard to say how the crowd would react if it is Roman/Rock. It's Philly but Mania always has a huge fly-in crowd. I also think Rock may be a bit like Hogan where crowds would boo his name until he came out and then they went crazy for him. It's one thing to boo the idea of the guy but if you're there for the match, they may react differently.

He’s that beloved right now (and for 2 years running essentially). Narratively, though, he should get the match.

The press conference should be interesting tomorrow, especially since it's free to attend for fans.

Yeah, Rock himself in person has really yet to get booed since 2003 (the 2015 Rumble was them booing Roman for sure). And even now, the fans would go ape for Rock-Roman under almost any other circumstance (look how they reacted for his head of the table line). It’s just the way they completely telegraphed Cody finishing his story with the Rumble win and the point is what has people not wanting Rock-Roman. If they all of a sudden said no it’s Rock-Roman night 1, Roman-Cody night 2, the crowd would be back behind Rock 1000%.

In a weird way, the "Philly is gonna boo rock out the building" talk reminds me of the discussion online leading up to bound for glory 2011 in Philadelphia. It was all "they're gonna give hogan hell!" & then the building went bananas when he hulk'd up.

Sorry, it's not Cody, but Drew's mocking T-shirt already outselling all of Punk's shirts has me in stitches.
Cody drew massively last year too. They don't care enough about that anymore.
