What are his multiple contradictions and where has he said them? Not that it would be crazy for a journalist to learn more about an evolving story, but people in this thread seem to be conflating a bunch of different reporters together as one person. Here’s one example I found quoted on Twitter. Dave still has the same date for Rock coming in, but thinks it’ll be Cody and Seth unless they pivot to something else. This is NOT the same stuff and tone as later. “When he (The Rock) made the deal on January 3 to come in, that (Roman Reigns at Mania) was part of the deal, & why Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble is a question that I cannot answer because nobody will answer it for me. But, the belief was that it was Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, and nobody knew, but the deal had been made prior to that. It played out the way they wanted it to play out. The plan as of Friday night was Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, and we’ll see how it plays out because now they’re trying to turn it into a story and see how the story goes.” That is the example of 'multiple contradictions'? Where's the bit that contradicts it?

Cody is freaking massive, you gotta change course WWE. Give Cody the match and title at Mania. We make fun of the neck tattoo, but holy shit is it great branding. His neck tattoo logo is probably the only AR entrance graphic that isn’t cringe. I like the ship in the Viking Raiders entrance

Austin coming back and whooping KO’s ass was fun. Rock just needs to stop. He screwed up Black Adam with his ego. He failed at XFL to the point it had to merge with another league. He had to run back to Fast and Furious and plant his lips on Vin Diesel’s ass hoping the next movie will give him a win. Now here he his forcing his old ass into a Mania main event that didn’t need him outside of being a guest referee. He could have been the Mike Tyson of this match and then had his match with Roman at Summerslam.

And the crazy part about the Summwerslam match is that it'd actually be probably smarter to have Roman vs. Rock as a big marquee summer match. When Roman loses the belt, there is a massive question mark over his head of 'What next?' that doesn't have a concrete answer. He was booked too strongly for them to just throw him into the shuffle, but he's not a full time talent anyway so if they want to keep him as a special attraction, they need things to attract with. Having Roman lose the belt, maybe lose a rematch, and then booking in a Rock match he can go over in, gives him something and doesn't have him immediately eating back to back feud losses. Then, if they want to have Jey come in and go over him ((which they should, there's no excuse for them not frankly), there's a big fall feud. A year ago, Wrestlemania was so big that it had to be the only place they could have Cody get his win. Now, that moment isn't big enough for Wrestlemania but Rock is so big that ONLY Wrestlemania can have this match. It's gross. They'll sacrifice a satisfying story ending last year to milk another show and puff up this year's Mania, but then throw it away and not ocnsider that Rock can beu sed as the hook to puff up Summerslam.

Especially given otherwise this year SummerSlam looks like a complete afterthought, because it doesn't even have a date or location yet and is sandwiched right between Money in the Bank and Bash in Berlin. They could pretty much instantly make the show a big deal by announcing Roman / Rock for it, and granted they could do that with Roman / Cody as well but it just feels like such an obvious and stupid oversight.

It is hilarious how clearly Meltzer and SRS are talking to different camps right now. You’ve got Dave getting how brilliant this was all along from Rock and Cody saying how horrible it is to SRS.

I'm happy the NXT fans gave Ava some chants after those scumbags ran her off Twitter. The NXT crowd can be cringe at times, but the way they cheered and chanted in support of Ava is heartwarming. She didn’t deserve to get hatred on social media for a situation she has nothing to do with.

It fits their characters, looks cool and it and Cody's feel like the only two that had performers' input.

Sorry, it's not Cody, but Drew's mocking T-shirt already outselling all of Punk's shirts has me in stitches. That made me smile too. Give the people Drew beating Seth!

R-Truth's is pretty good, but it's kind of only because it's a spoof of the very not good Judgment Day one.

Broke: booing Ava because she's the Rock's daughter.
Woke: cheering for Ava because she isn't responsible for her father's actions.
Bespoke: booing Ava for booking up to three Ridge Holland vs Gallus matches.

Literally just different categories of people buying the same t-shirt design is stomping all over everything else and people are defending this like "no but Rock will sell merch" it's wild. He ain't even the biggest merch draw in his own family

Lol Bryan Alvarez went on Observer Live just now and said that while it’s nice that Dave heard back in the day that Rock didn’t mind being booed, he obviously doesn’t want to come across bad now as a media figure.

They're gonna end up putting each other in a headlock by the end of the week, I guarantee it

In this case, Alvarez does have a point. The reason why Rock even has gone to the trouble of sauntering his way back to WWE in the hopes of being received as a conquering hero was because of his flagging public image starting with Black Adam bombing.

It's a lot easier to be okay with being booed when you're a wrestling guy in the active prime of your wrestle guy career, and not when you're a big actor facing a career decline and a high-profile failure, coming in to reassert and restate your star power only to get thoroughly rejected by the people you thought were a safe bet as 'your fans'.
