So here's what's going to happen. We're going to pivot from "oh man, is Cody even in this thing..." to "oh god, is Cody going to be in this thing and lose?" And the reality is the answer to that question is "yeah, Roman's probably pinning Rock and Cody will be on the chase until Survivor Series." Cody cannot afford a bottle job at 'mania even if Roman pins his juiced up cousin to retain. And speaking of juice, the Roman title run ran out of that long ago and there is zero justification in him holding the title past April 8.

It's weird how much over the last 15 years they've antagonized and made fun of people for even watching. Are we talking about WWE or the NFL?

Roman has effectively become the new HBK at WM14 in regards to this storyline. Didn't think it would happen but he's like a third wheel. Really wanna underscore this because WWE poured years into this man. YEARS. Not just this super long reign, but also the years they spent getting him to it. Everything has been for Roman. If he faces Cody, if the story gets finished, then it puts into focus the weight of all of Roman's run and lets him be the heel in the way, with a personal history building on last year's Mania match. It puts him defending his legacy at stake against Cody's story. But if The Rock is here, well, there isn't shit for this story. The story is just The Rock is back and they can try to build it into focus, but with the rejection and the audience shit going on, he's fallen into the background. It's about the spot at Wrestlemania instead of who is specifically facing Roman. This man went over the entire roster and he's not even the main character of his own Wrestlemania main event anymore. Having Cody beat him, I think, solidifies this story and offers something to both men. The jury is still out on if Roman can get any of that with this match happening, because the ephemeral headlines and coverage WWE is chasing with this situation won't live on for fans like a good story will. They never have.

I was thinking more Cody pins Roman, and we still have potential for two singles matches headlining shows down the road. Unless the Rock is taken out early, man the 4 year reign ending in a triple threat just feels dull. Hell has wwe ever followed up properly on a long title reign? Cena’s year long reign was cut short due to injury Punk lost his title to a part time Rock Brock lost his title to Roman after a distraction from Braun AJ lost his title to Bryan in a just announced title match on smackdown

Though him apparentl6 showing up like 5 times since WM39 probably didn't help either. Again if they just got to the fireworks factory and had Cody win last year they wouldn't be in this mess, HHH's booking team speed really bit them in the ass taking so long on "Wait and see there's a big plan in place" mode

Hold on there buddy. This is bordering on toxic and there's so much vitriol. I know you love the WWE Mothman (if you ARE a real moth.) but this is a show with naked men slapping each other. You are a fool for not knowing how underwear man 1 would do a scissor kick to thong wearing man 2.

Yawn. Get a grip, it's really not that serious. You're the one seeking out a thread of people speculating and joking around to tell us to "get a grip." Everybody else here seems to be taking it with an appropriate level of silliness. Clearly I'm too old for the internet, because a lot of it certainly sounded more akin to the dummy being well and truly spat across the nursery. Maybe I'm wrong.

I deleted my post because I didn't want to take this south, but yeah, I really don't think people are taking this as life or death in here. Maybe frustrated to an extent, but I also think it's just a lot of people cracking jokes. Harmless, IMO.

Point being, I say just enjoy the ride and if it's crap, then it's not the only form of entertainment out there.

This is a lot more fun than if Cody just challenged Roman. I’m here for the chaos.
