No question that the match would be a hot item with the crowd hot for it. But, to ask Rock to go anything over 8-10 minutes for a match is asking a lot when you consider his previous performances and the injuries that went along with it. The spectacle in of itself would have to take precedent over match quality and it's storytelling therein, much like Rock-Hogan 20+ years ago.

Plus, not the he needs it, but retiring The Rock from the ring is probably the ultimate rub for Roman. A rub that should be reserved for anyone but Roman at this point, but the ultimate rub nonetheless.

You can't tell me the creative team doesn't have the specter of McMahon hanging over the whole lot of them. Drawing shit out just for the sake of drawing it out will lead to a loss of interest, and they already pushed it as far as it will go with the insulting Mania 39 result. People want to see Cody win the freaking belt over Roman, give the f***ing people what the f*** they want. This isn't the 1970s-1980s NWA where you have the heel champion roaming from territory to territory defending the title against regional contenders. Putting the title on your biggest babyface since Cena is probably not going to hurt business. This Dusty Rhodes stuff is not a winning formula in 2024.

No amount of crowd sweetening will prevent the Philly crowd from absolutely shitting on a Rock/Roman match especially when we know what the damn outcome will be and the fact that Cody is being snubbed.

With Punk out, Seth banged up, and Cody seemingly being pushed aside, I have virtually no reason to watch WM. Waste of time and money. I freaking love The Rock, as he's my favorite wrestler of all time, but this ain't it.

It’s going to be on Seth and Cody’s backs to make their match feel as special as possible. The match itself will be great of course but we’ll see how engaging they can make the story going in.

This whole is just confusing and if it does, indeed lead to Seth/Cody and Roman/Rock for the title at Mania then yeah Iam not digging that. This whole thing is kind of a mess imo.

Seth and Cody's on-screen credibility and success don't give Heyman any bargaining power or make him any money, so he literally does not care, and he's the one pulling the strings on this act.
