Interesting little note I saw elsewhere online. While the Cody/Roman stuff is mostly split on YouTube in terms of likes/dislikes, the Bianca stuff is heavily tilted towards dislikes. Not that I think it means much, but it's fascinating that even the YT crowd hated her going over last night. Another fumble on the part of Triple H. I made sure to give all of their uploads a dislike. Take that, bitch.

When I was in middle school, I used to get bullied by this guy named Gary. He was an asshole. Gary was on our school's baseball team. One fateful day, there's a baseball game in the final inning, and Gary's at bat. He hits a home run! Now Gary was an asshole but I can't deny, he legit knocked it out of the park. He rounds 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and as he's heading towards home, he shits his pants. I'm talking violently shits his pants. He stops. A silence falls over the crowd. His father comes onto the field, with a hose, and has to hose Gary down to in order to wash the shit stains off of him. HHH is Gary. Please tell me this is a true story.

Doesn't feel so good, does it? I always try to comment on posts and not the poster, so I’m not sure what the deal is with that? If me expressing opinions on WWE in a positive light is detracting from everyone’s experience so much then I’ll scale it back. (And I said I would’ve booked Cody to win!) I'm just gonna say that I think you did nothing wrong and I think you're nicer about what you're in to than quite a lot of ppl here, including me lmao.

Please tell me this is a true story. I assure you, it is. So people saw Gary’s muddy cheeks get sprayed by his dad?

So people saw Gary’s muddy cheeks get sprayed by his dad? Dude got hosed down, in public, by his father. Gary, in addition to being an asshole, was also kind of an odd duck. He used to do pushups in the school bathroom. He would later get suspended in high school for taking a picture of a special ed kid taking a dump.

Roman makes sense he had a lot of interference and is so close to 1000 days as champ which may never happen again. Roman winning felt like he cheated Cody who should have won. Romans reign feels like it has story beats you can still do to add to it. Bianca just wins and over people I like a lot more then her. Her reign is the joke I win the title then beat everyone played out for real. I have no idea what they can do different except have her lose next time.

Yeah I think Bianca should lose but they didn’t do a good enough job building up a meaningful contender/story for this one. While watching the match I felt that it would be a pretty anticlimactic ending if Asuka won the title. They need to heat someone else up the way Reigns has had a bunch of worthy challengers heated up.

Reading some of Trips' quotes from the press conference after Mania...man, the WWE just can't help themselves with the whole 'oh, EVERYBODY thinks this is the outcome, so let's not give 'em that...it'll BLOW THEIR MINDS'
I am begging them to realise that a lot of the time in wrestling, the obvious outcome is actually the best one, the one that creates the best moments and memories and ends up making the most business in the long run. It lies with the company's talent as bookers and promoters to make an obvious outcome enjoyable. It creates a connection with your fans instead of this inherent distrust that even the most hardcore WWE fans have with the company...no one, absolutely no one counts on the WWE not to f*** up a sure thing.
The WWE did all the hard work, they created a compelling storyline with a natural and amazing climax that had a stadium of 80,000 plus and millions of fans- even the most jaded and lapsed WWE fans- at home eating out of their hands! They had all the hard work done...and then decided to f*** it all up.

They need to heat someone else up the way Reigns has had a bunch of worthy challengers heated up. It's far too late for that. Asuka was absolutely heated up, if not by creative, but by her new character and the audience. And a problem with Bianca feuds is that she is never, ever booked to look truly vulnerable. She's basically a Mary Sue. And as a result, her actual flaws are magnified significantly more (her promos are very one note and her selling is absolutely atrocious, and she still struggles to fill in parts of matches). And if Bianca is having a bad time now, it's only going to get worse with Asuka's tweets basically dumping on the women's division and how stale its gotten. I'd honestly go as far to say that once Bianca drops the title, she needs to be moved out of the title scene for awhile and actually face some setbacks if they want the audience to get behind her again. Not just "oh I lost the title and no sell the loss but I'll continue to run over everyone until I win the title back, at which point I'll run over everyone again and no sell them as threats"

The build was paint by numbers and did not have the crowd at a fever pitch to see her win the title. The hottest part of her comeback was the Rumble return itself. They didn’t capitalize on it with the booking.

Asuka's engagement numbers were high, and she was very frequently one of the hottest acts on the shows (and live events) in the leadup, only being eclipsed by Cody. And like I mentioned earlier, it was pretty obvious Asuka was the fan favorite considering the audience really did not care for Bianca winning, as WWE couldn't find a single decent camera shot of a group of fans NOT booing her or giving her the thumbs down.

I’m just saying I never perceived Asuka as being a particularly hot character going into this match. The build was lackluster. I’m defending the outcome because I think it would’ve been a bit of a missed opportunity to give Asuka that win here when dethroning Bianca could be a big moment akin to the Drew, Sami, Cody builds for Roman’s matches. They have to actually build to that moment though, so we’ll see if they’re capable or if Bianca’s just going to end up losing via MITB cash-in.

The WWE storytelling instinct of "we have a story people actually sincerely care about but let's do like not that super hard and then laugh at them for 'not getting the outcome they wanted' when we yank it out from under them" is baffling. WWE has such an ugly relationship with its audience and the contempt people in it have shown for the fans again and again really just speaks to something that keeps screwing them over. It makes no sense to keep being adversarial with your fans when they're actually hot and having fun and care.

The build doesn't matter if the match and result are good enough. Charlotte/Rhea from this year and Sasha/Bianca were lacklustre builds with amazing matches which is what people will remember. Asuka/Bianca could have been that too if they'd got the right ending.
I feel bad for Bianca too because it's not her fault and she's extremely talented. Super Bianca booking isn't helping her either.

Just pure, naked contempt for your audience.

Just pure, naked contempt for your audience. The Papa H charm offensive did a lot to save his public image, and that moment I think gets buried a lot because of the NXT stuff he did, but I absolutely agree. Triple H has been in this system forever and succeeded within it, and I think there's a degree to which he's more open to what the fans are into, but only so far and with his eyes set firmly on his own wants. He's just not as Vince-ey about all of it.

The shine has pretty much completely come off of Bianca because her booking is so suffocating, and her flaws are becoming more and more glaring the more she's pushed down our throats. Especially when she goes over fan favorites like last night. And this isn't a new thing either, I think the audience started to disengage slightly once she kept beating on Damage CTRL without any real setbacks. And then the disengagement really started to accelerate at the start of the year when Bianca got laid out by Alexa and the audience demanded Alexa DDT her again...in Bianca's own hometown. Ever since then she hasn't recovered, and last night was basically what I feel like is the turning point in this run as she's going to get some pretty significant pushback from fans.

Slept on it, think I hate it even worse now, lmaooo.
It’s just annoying, dawg. Off-rip. ENOUGH of the heels on top. Both major companies, f***ing stop it.
Complain about Bianca but the reality is she actually is the super face WWE DESPERATELY needs on the men’s side since Cena has been gone. You need those transcendent heroes!!!
