I'm just so bored thinking about the upcoming men's and women's title feuds. Absolutely nobody stands a chance of winning so why get invested?

Reading some of Trips' quotes from the press conference after Mania...man, the WWE just can't help themselves with the whole 'oh, EVERYBODY thinks this is the outcome, so let's not give 'em that...it'll BLOW THEIR MINDS' I am begging them to realise that a lot of the time in wrestling, the obvious outcome is actually the best one, the one that creates the best moments and memories and ends up making the most business in the long run. It lies with the company's talent as bookers and promoters to make an obvious outcome enjoyable. It creates a connection with your fans instead of this inherent distrust that even the most hardcore WWE fans have with the company...no one, absolutely no one counts on the WWE not to f*** up a sure thing. The WWE did all the hard work, they created a compelling storyline with a natural and amazing climax that had a stadium of 80,000 plus and millions of fans- even the most jaded and lapsed WWE fans- at home eating out of their hands! They had all the hard work done...and then decided to f*** it all up. Honestly I'm amazed Triple H even still does press conferences himself because every single time he does one he makes it clear at the end of the day he's still a massive prick.

I stopped watching WWE a couple of years ago, largely because of Roman Reigns and his title run. The only full show I've seen since is Cash at the Castle (I'm UK based, it was on at a reasonable time, and it was on BT Sports so I didn't need the Network) and I haven't seen a second of this year's Wrestlemania.
I was really surprised to hear Cody lost because it seemed like if not this time, then when? Everything was lined up perfectly. You had the story, the wrestler, and the occasion. Someone needs to remind WWE that the point of a dominant heel champ is that they lose it and send the audience home happy.

Dude got hosed down, in public, by his father. Gary, in addition to being an asshole, was also kind of an odd duck. He used to do pushups in the school bathroom. He would later get suspended in high school for taking a picture of a special ed kid taking a dump. I've read this story as Brodie from Mallrats.... Gary's a weird guy... Well did Gary cum or what?!?

It has lots of good wrestling and the feuds, while not overly complex, are entertaining. And while they have dominant champions there, it's really not hard to predict the end game of each champion, which BIG SHOCK, is not a bad thing! Meanwhile WWE is "Biancawinslol and Romanwinslol" for a year and since 2019 respectively.

And as I keep saying, this guy’s been making them money, he’s sold out house shows that weren’t doing the sorts of numbers in a decade, his merch was sold out Rumble weekend AND the night after and needed restocks. Like, I get people thought Sami was right (I’m one of them) but along with the things you mentioned, he also does the business side favors in his first year of the company. Whose doing that who hasn’t lost yet? Sheamus hasn’t since he was WWE Champion, the crowd loves Lashley but they don’t want to do anything with him and everyone else is a retread. This was the time. Outside of a massive free agent like Omega or MJF coming in or even The Rock himself…there’s nobody else. This was the moment and the decision was made, whoever it was, to say “Nah” and like, what do you want, creative? What’s the right place and time? Can you let us know?

The problem is that it's way too obvious that they want it to be Rock, and they'll put it off FOREVER just so they can have their moment of him telling Roman "You're not the Head of the Table, you're not the Tribal Chief, I am."

I’d love to know the moment when Rock/Roman wasn’t happening mostly because now felt like the best time for that to happen. Also because a real part of me was thinking it happened right before you don’t dedicate a whole Survivor Series to a guy’s anniversary of his debut and that guy doesn’t even send a video promo about it.

Honestly, the fact that everything went so sideways for him with DC basically guarantees he’s done with WWE. Anything else would look like him coming back to wrestling because his acting career went sideways.

I'll always remember a random hhh interview many years ago where he was talking about heel towns. He fundamentally believed they'd automatically cheer the heel rather than accept that maybe they just didn't like the face presented to them.
I remember another about nxt where he said he didn't get some things but they were popular so he went with them.
I think those interviews, his nwa obsession and pet projects(Kross) sum him up as a booker both for good and bad. He's good for improving the undercard, will give people a chance to at least do something and will commit to things long-term but is very rigid on how he sees the main-event picture. Regal is great to have by his side but he needs a good team to curb his worse tendancies and I'm not sure he had that.

It's just such a contrast between how I felt the day after the Rumble and how I feel today.

There’s nothing wrong with having a specific vision or having personal preferences. We all have that, especially as fans. You just also need to know when to say when and go with something that the crowd is feeling more than you might be. Vince eventually got to the point of blocking that out completely to the detriment of his credibility and goodwill as a booker, and Triple H has gotta be careful to not start going down that road himself. Like, he’s taken steps on it, it’s not great.

There were people unironically saying that and I couldn’t help but think even with all that, he’s still a very rich man with a lot of fingers in different pies, he doesn’t need to ever do it. WWE get way more out of it than Rock ever would. Which is probably why it feels like they’re trying again even though the prime marketing moment for it is gone.

WWE was shit under Vince and it's shit under Triple H. It's better now than it was but better doesn't mean good. The quality of some of the matches is disguising the awful booking
