AEW may be the beneficiary of Vince being in control again, they'll retake the lead.

The sad thing is I doubt this really has any effect on business. Not enough people care. It doesn’t matter how bad the product is, it doesn’t matter how evil the company is, too many of their core fanbase just don’t care.

AEW may be the beneficiary of Vince being in control again, they'll retake the lead. Retake? momentum wise? absolutely. there was a period of time where WWE was ice cold and AEW was getting closer and closer to RAW numbers.

I mean…AEW’s never going to reach WWE’s peak unless WWE is dead and they’re the top company for 40 odd years. And that’s fine and likely never really the end goal.
There’s competition, competition that has caused WWE to try different tactics against them to try and squash their momentum and has pleased the network it’s on. It doesn’t really need to be on Monday nights or anything as ridiculous as that to cement it’s place, its place was cemented when Turner expanded the deal it had 3 months after the start of Dynamite.

Pretty much. AEW's never going to kill WWE or get anywhere close to it - if WWE dies at this juncture it's likely going to be through disastrous financial decisions at the top of the foodchain that have little to do with WWE itself, or if somehow becomes such a giant money pit that they decide they're better off shuttering it, and neither of those is likely to happen for the foreseeable future - but it also does not need to kill it to be a successful, stable business with its own solid foothold in the marketplace.

AEW are always going to be the Dr. Pepper to the WWE's Coke, and there is nothing wrong with that. They're still popular, just not as big.
At the end of the day, the WWE have the best part of a century as a headstart, they have contacts through sport, media and politics that will make unseating them near impossible at this point, people need to be realistic about that and just enjoy the fact we have something approaching an alternative now.

Vince is truly evil. The guy just won’t go away after he is obviously senile. He looks like a complete goof with that hair dye and tilted mustache. I really hope that some people will walk away from WWE. I know that the money is hard to walk away from obviously, but something needs to be done in order to get this man away from the creative side of the product. Vince is truly the Al Davis of professional wrestling. Well it's been reported morale is really low right now several people have asked for releases but there's no word on if they'll actually be granted, and then more ominous tweets that Friday might be the day we see a purge so... we'll see who is gonna be around and not probably as this week goes. I haven’t seen legitimate reports that several people already asked for releases. Only thing I saw from SRS was that talent indicated they might ask for a release if Vince stays in control like at Raw.

Not like WWE cares about internet approval THe biggest thing with AEW growing and success is that it gives wrestlers more of an option if they don't like WWE and if people just want to watch wrestling it gives them an alternative to watch. Bottom line more than likely won't get effected (though remember before the pandemic, WWE house show events were doing so poor they were thinking of scrapping them altogether) but I am one that will always believe that when there's competition no matter how close, it does bring the best out of people... eventually

I would imagine there’s a lot of wrestlers in AEW that saw the changes in WWE the last few months and were becoming confident that they could go back or in the case of Kenny & The Bucks go over and be booked well.
Now though? Very doubtful. MJF is probably the only guy I could potentially see making the jump but everyone else I see being massively put off by recent events (most of HHH’s NXT guys for example).
And you will now again get guys & girls who will want out of their WWE contracts to go to AEW or New Japan, Impact wherever because the hope in their eyes has gone. I guess we will see over the next few weeks but if this weeks Raw is any indication then people will want to stay the heck away far from WWE as possible.

And just like that analogy, I'll stick with Dr Pepper thank you very much

It already is an uphill battle because it's WWE but as long as AEW doesn't care about casual fans and getting viewers that may not be wrestling fans, they will never get too far.

How does one make a wrestling show that people who don't like wrestling will decide to want to tune into? What does that even mean?

Correct, which is why it’s not likely any of their shows will be renewed in the next couple of years because they’ve been ratings failures, people like OC and Jade Cargill haven’t made appearances on non-wrestling content and all the expectations of a company coming after almost 20 years of a monopoly haven’t been exceeded in both ratings and PPV buys. Wait, hang on… EDIT: The casual fan talk is one of the most boring talking points we have as a community. It genuinely is.

'Ah yes, time to watch wrestling on television despite the fact I am not a wrestling fan. If I tune in and then don't again it is because insert your favourite wrestler here turned me off the product. I will now go back to tuning into wrestling shows sporadically every few weeks in the hope that something will draw me in. I doubt it though, as I don't like wrestling, but wrestling companies need me more than any other demographic possible. I am a very real person who definitely exists.'

I know I contributed but we don’t need to make this topic an AEW thing anymore. There’s enough fumbling HHH has done for it to change too is that dramatically.

AEW may be the beneficiary of Vince being in control again, they'll retake the lead. When were they ever in the lead? They beat NXT? Congrats.... Different people have different metrics. Personally, I think AEW is the better company. I base that on factors I think are important, Someone else might think WWE is better simply because they like the titantron better. ETA; I know you said lead, I sort of see the words as interchangeable
