You really can't argue with the numbers. This is a remarkable accomplishment.
I *will* be tuning in for this. It could be a real watershed moment for the company.

Good question like honestly I want AEW, WWE, Impact, and MLW to all be healthy I want Freddy Prinze to get his theoretical fed off the ground cause the healthier everywhere is the more m9ney everybody makes and the better the product becomes in theory Was legitimately a shame that TNA/Impact went the way it did. It could've been AEW. OK, so it would've probably needed more sane management, more money, and better booking, but it was the WWE alternative for a while there. When I was looking up the numbers for the list of attendance records, I was shocked that TNA's was so low. If they could somehow come back and get anywhere close to AEW's level to make a third big player, I'd be down with that. Better for everyone, from wrestlers to fans, to have more solid options. Yep it's why I recently pointed out when someone brought up AEW's "struggles" that they are on a level in terms of every metric but number of viewers (and that has more to do with cable cutting) that prime TNA could only dream of

I don't think it's clout with that WWEGareth guy, think it's much more likely he just got kicked in the head by a horse or something, guy is an absolute drip. He does it because he gets likes and gets propped up by the exact same absolute drips They prop themselves up to look good and try and make AEW look bad. The only ones who actually believe that bullshit is thankfully those toxic assholes though, but that's why you constantly see him. When Khan insinuated that some accounts use bots to inflate their like counts and make it to the top of comment sections and trending tabs? Accounts like that are definitely ones I wouldn't be surprised about being an example tbh

Why is there still tribalism over something like this? I’m the biggest Embrace The Hate angle apologist of all time and I hope AEW can crack the 85K mark with this. The bigger the crowd for a pro wrestling show, the happier I am. I love seeing the business as a whole doing strong numbers. Being completely honest? Some people don't actually come off like they're wrestling fans, they just come off like they're trolls looking to cause chaos, hatred, and stoke a flame They're not worth anyone's time, they don't come from a place of good faith, and they don't speak for the majority of fans who actively do want success for the sport itself Shit's annoying, but at least their BS is pretty clear to see.

I agree with everyone saying that they want this to just be a great AEW show that happens to be in the UK as opposed to pandering to the British crowd with local talent with only some exceptions like Ospreay or ZSJ. But another exception I'd like to see is Scotland's own Joe Hendry.
Really, all you have to do is say his name and he appears.

I kind of wish this show was happening during the suuuuuper early days of AEW where they didn't really know what the hell they were doing yet and had all kinds of random drop-ins entirely to see people horrified by Grado randomly turning up.

What's amazing is before the tickets went on sale - I thought about all the advantages AEW had to get their numbers up. TK owns a Premier League team, has connections there, it's the 100th anniversary of Warner Brothers and Wembley Stadium, LiveNation is a great partner, they had a lot to get them to around 40-50K. But now they've blown the doors wide open and still have all those tools available. It's hard to say if there even is a ceiling now. You get big matches here, bring in some special attractions, there's no reason they can't get to 80K.

I feel like they started planting seeds to run back Nigel and AmDrag during the last ROH PPV with some of Nigel’s commentary. I mean…I wouldn’t be mad at it.

Tower of London in London would be a God Pop.

Twitter trolls, podcasts, etc. If you bury AEW without any rational thought applied, you can make money off of it. It's sad, but unfortunately the truth.

But WWEGareth knows the real stats guys. Hope nobody shows him the consistent trend in WWE viewership where it drops (sometimes drastically) hour by hour... Lately hour 2 of Raw has been higher than hour 1 (same for Smackdown) but hour 3 does always go down.

I bet nobody has mentioned that there are still seats still available for Money In The Bank too. At the O2 Arena.. with a capacity of 20,000. Money in the Bank sold out in one minute of the general on sale starting.

If anything this proves that there's an appetite for more wrestling in the UK and WWE probably undersold themselves on booking an arena. The amount of people willing to spend money on big time events is fantastic for the industry.

That's how Fandom's work, that's how it works for any and all media If you hate a thing people love, chances are, you will get a sect that love that you're "Speaking for them", and that's how this shit works, it's been that way for a very long time, long before AEW existed, and it'll sadly continue Negativity is valid but when you make it your whole personality and say stuff that doesn't even make sense and you just wanna say "AEW Bad" it's really pathetic, and the same goes for anything people do this for. I can't tell you how much long and terrible Youtube thinkpieces have ruined discussion of certain media's online like Steven Universe for example lol
