Endeavour: "So why are we stopping people from streaming again?" WWE: "Well, we pay them a bunch, so we feel we're entitled to their earnings from outside sources." Endeavour: "Why not just let another company give them money, and we can give them all a pay cut?" WWE: "... Great news, you can all make as much money as you want from Twitch!"

I figured when Xavier, Manny and Brennan were all back on Twitch within the last week. Happy for them.

The fact this needed 'a deal' is still demented. Wrestlers are really asking for like crumbs back from the overreach of control WWE's recent contract changes have slapped onto them.

The report:
Fightful Select has learned that WWE and Twitch reached an agreement to allow WWE wrestlers back on twitch with almost no restrictions. Those we spoke to said that the revenue will be a three-way split that Twitch and the talent take the vast majority of.
“Almost” no restrictions was outlined to us as not permitting talent to stream with people from other companies unless it’s cleared first.
Talent that we spoke to were very happy about the deal.
In April of 2022, there was a talent meeting that was held to notify wrestlers that they’d have the opportunity to expand their third party platforms again. However, it took longer for WWE to work out a deal with Twitch, which we are told has been finalized.
In the fall of 2020, a decree was made to eliminate numerous third party deals and platforms for talent. This led to frustration across the roster, with many citing it as a contributing factor to their desire to perform elsewhere.

Took a long time, but pretty much everything I reasonably hoped for seems agreed upon. So, good.
Zero surprise WWE still want a cut, but it's small and much better than literally years more of hassle in courts.

Austin: "So I'm still going to stream with Adam and Claudio."
WWE: "Not sure about that."
Austin: "That wasn't a request."

They should have never been stopped in the first place. If they were using their WWE name to stream then sure the company should have a say as you could say something stupid that could be attributed to WWE but if you're streaming in your own free time going by Mike Stevens or whatever your real name is then it's your own business and no one should be able to stop you.

The company still wants a share of the money? Get the f*** out of here with that garbage. Crazy that's even legal. I can understand the desire not to essentially promote other companies, that's more towards reasonable but still getting revenue for what their independent contractors do on the side is ridiculous.

I can't believe they didn't find a way to use Tout as the platform for all of this...

Nick Khan has guided WWE to position itself as sort of a talent agent for the wrestlers, and it's a massive conflict of interest because WWE, due to primarily being about the creation of WWE products, has its own interests in terms of who in its company it wants to put into prominent positions, and will want to use those priorities in positioning people to receive them. It's such a rigged concept and it's absolutely shitty on so many dimensions.

I still do not know why WWE should get cent one, especially if streamers are using pseudonyms or their legal names.

I just find it absurd that Zelina would need to ask permission to have her husband on her Twitch stream. Why does it matter?
