Either Kong has a robot arm, or he's found the Infinity Gauntlet.

Oh dear god does that look dumb. I’ll probably see it opening night, on the fancy screen

Am I to be made to understand they couldn’t get this out two days ago and put it in front of Godzilla Minus One?
Edit: I have now viewed the trailer and believe they made the right choice. Only way it could be funnier is if they put it after that movie.

Oh dear god does that look dumb. I’ll probably see it opening night, on the fancy screen Maybe not opening night for me, but given how fun the last couple of MonsterVerse movies have been I'll definitely be seeing it in the theatre.

Looks dumb. Might be fun. The last one wasn’t very enjoyable. Seems like they’re continuing to make these more King Kong with Godzilla as a guest star, which is understandable because you can anthropomorphize a giant gorilla easier than a giant dinosaur. But like, Godzilla is way cooler and this iteration of Kong is kinda lame. Also, not excited about the new monster just being a red King Kong.

I really enjoyed Skull Island and King of the Monsters, but the last one was pretty meh and had all the trappings of a modern Warner Bros. blockbuster: way too much stuff crammed into one movie, editing all over the place with too obvious ADR/reshot/added scenes to try and make it work, etc.
Like, this feels like it'd work better as a Kong movie, but they know it'll sell better if Godzilla's in there, too. Either way, this is the tough transition period: the early Monsterverse movies worked in part due to the air of mystery and the unknown surrounding everything about the existence of monsters, but now that everything's out in the open the vibe is inevitably going to be very different.

Looks like a fun romp, really seemed to be pushing back on earlier complaints about not enough monsters, though I always rolled my eyes at that one considering how little screen time Godzilla had in the originals, and having Kong is a good idea to present that since he's very emotive.
That said, I hope we get back to more Godzilla centered films, I really want to see monsters like Space-Godzilla or a version of Destroya show up as the big bad. I have faith considering how well they handled Mecha and Monster Zero so far.

We're getting two Godzilla movies in the span of less than half a year, and I'm ok with that.

I feel like we are due for a new Godzilla vs Barkely sort of thing. But who should replace Sir Charles?

I thought it was a lot of fun, but like Ghostbusters last week it was a mixed bag.
It was a Kong film with Godzilla showing up to wreck shit. The villains were underwhelming. The pacing was weird but once they got to the team up it was a blast. More over the top and dumb but not really a great movie. If you want to see monsters fighting it’s worth your time but there’s not much else there.
I’d rank the Monsterverse films…
1) GVK 2) Skull Island 3) GXK: TNE 4) KOTM 5) 2014 (the MUTOs suck)
I know it won’t happen but I’d love to see this a double feature with Minus One.

This was a big no from me. It’s fine as a Kong movie. It’s an abysmal Godzilla movie. If it wasn’t for the appearance of you know who I’d have considered this a full two hours wasted. Stop making Godzilla sprint and land haymakers like he’s some f***ing marvel superhero. I hate it.

This is the type of movie that makes me miss Netflix. I'm curious about it but really don't want to see it in theaters. Previously I'd just wait for the DVD to arrive, but that's not an option anymore. Now I have to play the waiting game and see what streaming service it shows up on.

I saw it earlier today. It was a lot of fun. Not exactly the art piece that Minus One is, but also Not a super dumb movie that would get on my nerves (like transformer). It knows we wants monsters fighting, it gave us monsters fighting. I noticed it leaned away more from the humans compared to the earlier films. The little girl played a part in the plot, but it didn't fee like we were punched in the face with that fact. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I really enjoyed the zero gravity fight.
Also, was the small ape supposed to actually be a really short adult ape? I felt like his intro was supposed to be misleading into making us think it was a child, but once he attacked it felt like a hint that he wasnt a child. He did have a scar on his face.
