Every time a new kaiju type movie comes out, there's a dorky part of me that's curious what cities they'll end up stomping on, if only because there's a weird sort of "oh hey I've been there" you get from, say, seeing the rampage through Boston at the end of King of the Monsters.

I've had a good time with the Legendary MonsterVerse movies. It felt like Godzilla vs Kong was a good end point for them.
But, if they want to continue to roll the dice on them, I'm interested.
Totally agree they should shoot for the moon and bring in something wild like SpaceGodzilla, though.

Make Space Godzilla, you cowards!! Space Godzilla still has my favorite "F-it we need to move this story along" moment in cinema history: There's this space station that gets destroyed and a found video shows some astronauts floating around in the station, one says something like "There is an unknown object approaching" and suddenly a giant crystal pierces the station and the camera feed dies. The scientists back on Earth are like "It MUST be a Giant Space Monster." And everybody is like "Yup that's the only reasonable explanation." A similar Hollywood movie would waste half the runtime with some bullshit about how one scientist is sure it's a Giant Space Monster but everybody else thinks they are crazy. And it would focus on the struggles of this misunderstood scientist. Where Toho is like "F that shit we need to show more monsters" and blasts past that crap. Oh yeah, and the Hollywood version would have some random angry military dude that wants to nuke everything being the actual villain while Godzilla and Spacegodzilla only fight on screen for like 5 minutes total.

I loved King of the Monsters and Skull Island, but Godzilla vs. Kong just had some of that weird "WB produced movie is edited really choppily and it stops feeling like there's any flow to anything after the first twenty minutes" thing going on. Hope they fix that for this one.

Don’t much care for the human characters for the most part…but I am a big Dan Stevens fan…so that’s cool. If you’ve never seen Wingard’s The Guest starring him I recommend it.

But I mean, the dude was correct about it being a Giant Space Monster, right?

Less nonsensical human shit please Isn't that pretty much common for every Godzilla movie ever though? Honestly, they just need to have a good cast around the monsters and not kill them off (aka don't kill off people like Ken Watanabe and Cranston).

It just felt more ass in Godzilla vs Kong after I really didn't care for the family anyway in King of the Monsters Also yes, killing Watanabe and Cranston was criminal

Godzilla and Kong aren’t gonna cross any picket lines. Absolute kings. The only line that Godzilla will cross are the power lines the Japanese forces built to keep him out of Tokyo

Less nonsensical human shit please I can't believe Hollywood still thinks, in monster movies or movies aboit giant robots, that we'll care more about the main scientist reconnecting with his wife after their break up, or the obnoxious sons issues with his dad spending too much time at work. Just show us monsters/robots wrecking shit up.

Just show us monsters/robots wrecking shit up. Not just a Hollywood thing though. Every single Godzilla movie has humans driving the plot going all the way back to the very original film. www.unusualhorror.com/post/godzilla-screen-time#:~:text=On%20average%20Godzilla%20has%20around%2014%20minutes%20of%20screen%20per%20movieAverage amount of time Godzilla is on screen is 14 minutes. Have to have something to drive the plot outside of that.
