f*** me, how do you screw that up? Never doubt the spending power of Swifties. Just bouncing between this thread and the Twitter thread to constantly remind myself that wealth has zero correlation with intelligence.

Was just watching Archer on Netflix on my Apple TV unit..
And one thing I noticed at the end of the episode I wanted to see who did the guest voices so I grabbed the remote to choose the ‘watch credits’ button and there wasn't one, just the 5-second play next episode button. So ok I will just push the < back button and that will get rid of the 5 second count down. No, it just exited to the title menu.
I don't know if this just a bad design, or Netflix being petty by not letting anyone watch tv show credit.

It's not in any way a surprise but it's astounding that Breaking Bad being on Netflix was why the last season was one of the most successful in recent international TV history (it got some of the better ratings when it was on BBC, as an example) and the people involved get, like, zero from that. Absolutely mindboggling.

The WGA's proposal would only cost them $45 million.

The end goal is to do what the airlines did to their unions in the 80s, just obliterate them, no matter how much money they need to throw in the hole to achieve that, because the money they will save in the long term will more than compensate for that.

No wonder he's in no hurry for this to end.

To add further to the “Goddamn, these studios are dumbasses” pile, Taylor Swift pitched to all the studios about distributing her concert movie and, allegedly, they all wanted all the profits or nothing. So it’s now being released independently through her and her father to theatres. How’s that going? Well… Like…that feels like an easy slam dunk when studios are delaying films in theatres, right? Jeez… And to add an extra wrinkle to all this, Taylor and her team went ahead and got a SAG-AFTRA agreement too.

She broke Ticketmaster, Swifties might be the reason that something's done about Ticketmaster's monopoly. Did they think a Taylor Swift concert film would flop, or that she's not that big of a musician?

I didn't expect Taylor Swift to become the new trustbuster. But here we are lol.

Which of course they weren’t going to accept that, why would they?

In relation to previous post about the Netflix “watch credits” button not appearing on their Apple TV app.
Well it’s back now. The Apple TV software has not been updated recently but the third party apps update automatically.. So I guess Netflix put out an update this week.
A bug, or Netflix being petty and getting called out? Eh, take your pick

Taylor was in the perfect position to tell the studios to go f*** themselves. A lot of movie/TV makers and actors don't have a choice but to work with AMPTP-affiliated studios because that's where the money is, but that's not the case for Taylor. She has the money to bankroll the production, promotion, and everything else herself and could be confident that she'd make a profit out of it. All AMC had to do was be halfway sensible in negotiations and it was win-win for them and Taylor.

Jeez… I've never heard a single Taylor Swift song. She's been this huge pop culture figure and but I've never even through osmosis consumed any of her content. Maybe it's because I don't listen to top 40 radio or whatevs. The devotion and admiration she gets kinda baffles me tbh. But good on her for telling the studios to f*** off.

The woman said "f*** you, I'm rerecording my old albums and I'm gonna own those songs" to make sure she didn't get screwed on royalties and where her music is used, and they thought she'd bow to them.

She wasn't about to go through the same headaches again with the AMPTP studios.
