Conrad defending Bischoff in the comments below are truly embarrasing
Conrad coming in clutch with the f***ass denialism grift shit in the replies where people are posting the "There is no AEW TV deal" thumbnail and he's saying 'Watch the video to find out what he really said'. It's really great when people clickbait you to hell and then when you get called on the statements you seem to be putting out in the world go "Nuh-uh that's not what we said in the video we own, uploaded, labeled, and advertised as such" like actually the moral failing is on you for not 'fidning out' by giving them your time in a way that makes them some money. Clickbaiters live in such a wonderful bad faith world of never having to be accountable for statements they objectively made by pretending some things aren't "really" statements. But even the real meat of the video is embarrassing garbage by pretending that Andrew Zarian's 'TV deal imminent' reporting were things Tony Khan was saying, so it's garbage in that way too. Conrad sucks and nobody should actually listen to him I actually really liked Something to Wrestle but as the podcast industry has softened he's become way more reliant on live stream clickbait bullshit. The Jeff Jarrett pod is still somewhat interesting at times but nothing else he's doing is good anymore. There's a reason why Bischoff is now a loan officer at his mortgage company on top of doing the podcasts. They're not making what they have made in years past.

The amount of whining and goal post moving in the last few days has been nothing short of incredible. Goal post moving, wild denialism of reality, and conspiracy theory nonsense. It's actually a little bit insane; I remember when WWE was inking its huge Raw and Smackdown deals a few years ago and even people who hated WWE didn't try to like, object to reality and cook up half the insane shit I've seen going on. Like f*** imagine if the "Fox signs billion dollar five-year deal for Smackdown" news was met by a sizable force of people with actual followings saying "But why? WWE fans are Klansmen!" It's deranged. Like the strongest takes were "WWE is failing upwards" because their ratings were in freefall at the time even relative to the decline of cable. I wish that was the strongest negative take on this as opposed to unhinged conspiracy theories and the real time shifting of goalposts from the end zone to the Arctic Circle.

The only wrestling podcast I really outright enjoy these days is The Lapsed Fan and even there I feel like JP has a tendency to fall into OTT anti-AEW rhetoric when given the opportunity.

Clickbait titles are annoying but I wouldn’t expect anything different from people that post clips of podcasts on YouTube in order to monetize that.

Wow it’s crazy that both Conrad/Bischoff and Last/Cornette have fallen victim to the horrible scam of their own YouTube thumbnails that somehow don’t reflect their full content if you listen to the whole thing. How do they keep getting tricked by these poor thumbnail people they are forced to employ?! Poor guys.

But if you're going to clickbait, you need to own the reality that your clickbait counts as statements you are making publicly, and that you're going to be held to and criticized on those statements. Conrad and Bischoff don't get it both ways here, either they can present provocative untruths for money and deal with those consequences, or they can be more honest with their advertising amid the many, many ways other than "There is no AEW TV deal" that that clip could have been marketed that would have still generated interest clicks. Conrad is being disingenuous and a total grifter when he tells people 'That's not what he said go listen to my podcast' when people think it's what he said because of how he put that podcast into the world.

Perhaps, but I’d assume Conrad and Eric are somewhat removed from the actual posting of those clips, and they’re being done by a social media manager. Still Conrad’s responsibility as the owner of the company and maybe working at his direction but understandable that if someone says “ha Bischoff said they won’t get a TV deal” that the reasonable response would be “no he didn’t” if it’s true that he didn’t.

Conrad's running a small shop. I'm sure he sees what goes up before it does.

It’s understandable that someone would assume a video titled “there is no AEW TV deal” with “it’s all bullshit” in giant letters in the image is a video in which Bischoff thinks there’s no tv deal. I shouldn’t need to listen to the 20 minutes attached to it to find out that he said something different. It’s 100% on Conrad for the assumption people make looking at it.

Kinda touched on this earlier, but it’s crazy how little time I give just about ANY of these podcasts that are ALWAYS being brought up. You name a wrestling podcast, I don’t listen to it.
(Unless you name Deadlock or Attitude Era Podcast)

No doubt, but again that doesn’t reflect on what Bischoff actually said if he didn’t actually say they wouldn’t get a deal (and maybe he did say they wouldn’t, lord knows I’m not listening to his podcast).

This is classic "well he didn't say those words exactly" while not addressing the heart of the criticism which is Eric has said a lot of silly things that now look awful in light of this deal. Here some other videos posted from his podcast:
- ERIC BISCHOFF: "STREAMING is *NOT* going to save AEW!" - ERIC BISCHOFF's 83 WEEKS | IS FOX AEW's FINAL HOPE? - ERIC BISCHOFF: "TONY KHAN has DAMAGED AEW beyond repair" - ERIC BISCHOFF: "AEW will *NEVER EVER* get 1MILLION VIEWERS again!" (this has a graphic indicating a death spiral)

The Aew fanbase is so energised that their like a mountain between the detractors and the company. The former on the backfoot, defensive like never before.

(Unless you name Deadlock or Attitude Era Podcast) I mostly stick with Denise Salcedo. But the best wrestling internet content in general is still WrestlinGIFS.

The discourse between staunch AEW defenders and those who dislike it is honestly not only the most visible component of the company online, but also incredibly f***ing annoying. I’ve been peripheral with all wrestling since mania. With WWE, I hear about angles, some company stuff, minor backstage stuff. With AEW it goes company’s profits, fans - anti fans fighting, some business details. Literally barely hear about any of the angles or actual content.

My problem here isn't Conrad saying 'He didn't say that', it's in how he's treating the response to the messaging of his own company and acting like everyone else is wrong for not doing the action that, conveniently, financially benefits him.

What’s annoying to me isn’t people that don’t like AEW, it’s the people who’s all thing is that they put on this elevated idea that the reasons why don’t like it will be the reasons the company DIES, or that Ospreay/Ricochet spots are an abomination. It’s just not to your taste, you’re not some business analyst. A good deal of what WWE does today isn’t stuff that I like, but other people do. I’m not gonna act like what I like is the superior version. It’s a matter of taste.
