I hate the name “Dynasty” for a ppv lol I seriously don't care at this point because St. Louis finally gets a PPV after being passed over because of the UFC a couple years ago. Getting to see an AEW PPV live is going to kick SO much ass. Could care less what it's called LOL

It's quite amazing that David Zaslav is capable of loving anything to be honest but at least he loves this, hope it turns into a really good deal.

I'm starting to think the TV catalogue will go to MAX but not PPV's. If the buy-rates are as good/steady as Khan has stated I couldn't blame him either. At their price you don't need a huge number for them to make a nice chunk of change.
I'm sure some people would sign up for MAX to get them, but I'm not sure it'd offset what he'd lose by ditching PPV.

MAX would be the ones taking the risk on how many subscribe (or don’t cancel) because of the addition of the PPVs. AEW would get the flat amount of money from WBD for the rights, so as long as that exceeded their take on PPVs it would seemingly be worth it (while also getting them a ton more exposure, which as we’ve seen with WWE and Peacock is very important). General numbers but if they sell 150K PPVs at $50 each and take half of that with half going to the cable companies that would be around 3.75 million per PPV. Multiplied by 9 shows and they’d be leaving about 34 million dollars per year potentially on the table by going to MAX.

Zaslav loves a product with two things. 1) Shows that are sports or in a similar space. They offer the most potential content and can available all year if you include the NBA, NHL and MLB seasons together. AEW provides content all year long and for various potential avenues. They also split revenue on the PPVs since Bleacher Report is a WBD platform. 2) Cheap content. Even with a substantial media rights increase, AEW is still fairly cheap for the amount of content they produce. WBD doesn't pay for production, talent, and they split the revenue from advertisements.

Coyote vs ACME's drama has everyone in the "We're really never gonna forgive you" mode right now.

His mass layoffs at TCM were so bad that Scorsese, Spielberg and P.T. Anderson had to have meetings with him to set things straight. And then he reversed a lot of the important layoffs. Dude sucks!

Zaslav was the guy that pushed for Raw to get good deals when he was a part of NBC Universal and is a wrestling fan so that’s a bit of optimism for us.
It is sort of like having your other half get you a PS5 after destroying all your other worldly possessions but still!

Coyote vs ACME's drama has everyone in the "We're really never gonna forgive you" mode right now. And here I am still mad about Batgirl. Won't release that movie because it would have hurt the brand, but yet still releasing Black Adam, Fury of the Gods, and The Flash. Movies that all flopped, and worse than Batgirl could have. Batgirl didn't even cost half of what any of those movies cost.

Zaslav is slime, but my main belief as to why AEW is coming out so favorably is just that WBD doesn't own it. Obviously yeah there's all the ways AEW has performed well and delivers stuff that keeps the network happy, that's very real and very true. But AEW also can't be f***ed with in that regard. He can't shelf anything about AEW for tax write-offs, he can't lay anyone there off, he can't shut down a subsidiary and start bringing out the red stamp so he can try to min/max tax loopholes off of lost potential revenue from the closure. What AEW offers Zaslav is purely an arrangement for programming, so he's engaging with the deal like a network head engages with deals, instead of with a giant pair of scissors in hand wondering how he can approach this situation to make his performance bonus bigger.

It’s why the WCW comparisons or ownership stuff that was rumored felt weird because we’d be hearing a lot more executive meddling stories about AEW if a) they weren’t happy and b) if there was public access to the finances of AEW to shareholders.
