Yeah, that just sounds like the beginning of the unraveling. Roman gets annoyed at the Usos, the Usos would respond with “How about you and Cody?” you’d begin to build some tension on both ends because they are hungrier and desperate to get belts back and eventually that’ll lead to a big explosion. It’d literally be a heel being a hypocrite which has been done a gajillion times in wrestling history. They could have done it either way, neither is inherently better than the other and all involved parties seem as over as ever. Cody winning the title would have made Beastie Boy attacking him make much more sense, so that was the better option.

Well, the storyline is back firing on all cylinders now with Roman’s return and the Jimmy turn.
Buckle up for the 1000 day celebration on Smackdown.

I thought they might’ve missed the only opportunity to keep him that hot by not crowning him at Mania. But he’s been full steam ahead even without the title, leading the show, over like crazy with the crowd. They can still mess it up of course, but he seems like a made man right now.

finally some forward progression. Jimmy being the guy to "fire the shot" by kicking Roman was a good choice, and Jey repeatedly being like "what the hell?" is gonna make for some fun drama before we get them both on the same page against Roman's tyranny.

I don't think it ever stopped. Roman Reigns and his dumbass family still have my balls in a vice grip.

curious if we'll get Jimmy vs. Jey some time before they team up versus Roman?

They still should have crowned Cody at 'mania, and not risked cooling him off. More importantly, it would have given Brock a much better reason to go after Cody and Lesnar vs Rhodes would have been even more exciting with two straps on the line.

Finally some progression.
Still, Roman doesn’t need to be champion for all this to happen.

I think it makes more sense at this point for Jey to stay loyal to Roman, and Solo actually turns before Jey does. Since Jey was the first to fall, he can't just turn when he's shown weakness over and over again. He has to stick with Roman in order to validate all the crap that has happened to him since he first fell in line. The only way he can protect himself from feeling stupid when both Sami and Jimmy made it out before he did is to be the one who stays loyal until the end.

It’s such a good unexpected twist that Jimmy pulled the trigger. Not on accident or whatever. He pulled up and hit Roman between the eyes.

Allow me to play fantasy booker for a moment:
- Jey and Solo stick with Roman for the time being.
- It’s Jimmy vs. Roman at MITB. Roman retains and destroys Jimmy, but Jey has enough and turns.
- Roman vs. Jey at SummerSlam. Solo walks out on Roman. Jey wins the title with help from Sami.
- Roman disappears for a little while.
- He comes back and attempts to make amends. He was blinded by glory and his own arrogance and it caused him to turn his back on family. His apology seems sincere and the Usos are receptive, until they get laid out by the debuting GOD.
- Roman called in a favour from Uncle Haku and has himself a new Bloodline to feud with the Usos.

He only kicked Roman between the eyes when Jey was being accosted by Roman.
