TKO in premarket right now. … holy shit. Hey, they needed a win for months. That seems like exactly the win they needed.

I’m super curious now what happened to the Amazon Prime deal. Especially as someone said to me, HHH and Jeff Bezos have been spotted with each other at events, it seemed like a surefire deal at the end of last year. Could they be a dark horse for the NBA rights?

Huge news. Like crazy big. I feel like a lot of people suspect that wrestling was getting a little more popular because of the exposure on Peacock. Well, they just got that but on steroids.

And this is all for individual brands not just the one show. They have cashed out and maximized their shows to the fullest to get separate bags for each The talent gonna wrestle in Top Hats & Monocles. If you got a contract coming up you within the next years and you are valuable you are rubbing your hands together like Birdman. This makes the Drew contract interesting as he’s soon to be done now but with way TK throwing money around, he can at least force WWE hand The Netflix deal also makes me wonder if get more media like the Undertaker/New Day shit they did. Also the production on a cinematic match would be outrageous

Can all the wrestling companies get on streaming so that we can finally end any and all ratings discussions?

Netflix is an interesting option. Relatively untried in live events and sports. I hope Netflix has all of their technical ducks in a row. Good for WWE for getting that money though!

Yeah this is a great move for WWE. Netflix has way more reach domestically and globally than cable. This is the future of sports, IMO. We already see that with Prime/Peacock for the NFL, Peacock/Apple for MLB, and I'm sure the NBA will have some streaming content in their next media rights deal. This was a no brainer move for WWE.

Has Netflix ever done a live show? let alone live sports because I know someone asked about commercials....what is the chance Raw goes back to being pre-taped? I doubt it's going back to pre-taped stuff. Netflix has been wanting to get into the live content bubble for awhile now. They've experimented with it in the past.

Could they be a dark horse for the NBA rights? …damn, I did not think of that. That’d make a lot of sense. Also they may not have given the number of years that Netflix did. The NFL deal is up in 2033, and Bezos is no doubt gonna make a play to get more games on Prime.

I’m super curious now what happened to the Amazon Prime deal. Especially as someone said to me, HHH and Jeff Bezos have been spotted with each other at events, it seemed like a surefire deal at the end of last year. Could they be a dark horse for the NBA rights? Just to add to this process in my head now; TNT Sports in the UK announces a major NBA deal, scoring the rights from Sky Sports. In turn, they basically leave the WWE on the open market for Netflix to snag since their deal ends at the end of this year. The WBD exclusivity window for a deal with the NBA ends in April basically putting it up to the open market like USA did with Raw. Amazon, having gunned for WWE and having some success with the Premier League, could have some capital to snag those rights away from Turner if they don’t sign anything before April and if USA doesn’t go after it too. In turn, if WBD doesn’t spend as much on the NBA, could pay AEW what it wants and basically set up Max as the AEW streamer like Netflix is for WWE internationally, especially since Max is reevaluating its international strategy. It might complicate Triller’s own rights but that’s to be seen. Basically, because of this deal, WBD could give AEW a pretty bumper deal that’ll lose it some of the NBA rights but gain content that has been seen to be consistently successful so everyone wins! …damn, I did not think of that. That’d make a lot of sense. Also they may not have given the number of years that Netflix did. The NFL deal is up in 2033, and Bezos is no doubt gonna make a play to get more games on Prime. Fair point, too. If this ESPN deal goes well for all parties, just imagining a scenario where the NFL has a stake in Amazon seems wild to me.

It was inevitable that a big wrestling show would become streaming only, but it still is weird to see it happen.
Ultimately it’s good news because it’s one less ratings discussion we’ll need to have.

I looked it up, and Netflix has 77.3 million subscribers when combining the United States with Canada. USA Network is currently in 72 million homes in the U.S.
