Holy shit, I just saw the 10 year deal part. That could be questionable. Also, it says Netflix is getting the Network content outside of the US. I wonder if that means Canada too? Our Network stuff is currently tied to SportsNet From what the press release said, the US is the only one just getting Raw because the Network stuff is tied to Peacock still so it seems like it’s saying that’s the case without overtly saying it?

CNBC is talking about it. Big day for Netflix, as the company also reports its earnings today.

If the Netflix deal goes well, then they're going to have a bidding war over the rights to live events in the States, too. I have a feeling TKO is going to be on a different level financially in like 5 years.

I’m kinda surprised if it is, SportsNet just paid a tonne of money for UFC rights as of Jan 1 including now being able to buy and watch PPV through the SportsNet app. I assumed they would retain all the WWE stuff too. This’ll be interesting.

Netflix is going to need literally an entirely different infrastructure and user interface to quarantine off WWE and how it worksi f they want to keep their service from completely faklling apart from the sheer output WWE offers. Especially internationally if they're serving all WWE content. I'm already pretty tired of how often I have to scroll past Dave Chappelle. I watched that stupid OVW documentary so my recommended viewing is going to be every single f***ing show they do Me on social media

First thought: Ewww. This feels weird and I don't like it. Second thought: Well, maybe I'll watch more Raw now since I dropped cable in my room. Third Thought: TK and WBD better be putting together a deal to move Collision to Mondays in 2025. People will watch. Also Smackdown is undeniably the top show now. . I tend to think there's no real "top show" anymore. They're both huge f***ing juggernauts with tons of star power on each. It's not 2004-2009 anymore where Smackdown always lost their top stars when Raw needed a boost. I think the only way it’ll be A shows is to the places they’ll be. Smackdown will be USA’s A show until the original content comes through, NXT could be the top show on CW by default and Netflix will have so much WWE content internationally, it could be the thing that turns some stuff around. Especially since they don’t need to pay any more costs than they have to. If the Netflix deal goes well, then they're going to have a bidding war over the rights to live events in the States, too. I have a feeling TKO is going to be on a different level financially in like 5 years. It’ll be super interesting. Again, this is the deal TKO needed to make because if it was just going to sign to USA, no guarantee it was going to be substantially higher than the last one like with Smackdown and stocks would have tanked further. At least with this, you not only have a sure thing for next year but potentially the 4-9 years afterwards.

AEW moving a show to Monday makes a lot of sense to pick up the audience who cannot or will not go to Netflix. It would certainly be better than Saturday.

No. Will WBD be cheeky and ask about it in negotiations until Smackdown gets confirmed for Mondays on USA? Absolutely.

Our Network stuff is currently tied to SportsNet If you're going to go with a streaming partner for 10 years, Netflix is the one to do it with. It seems very likely to me that they'll be the survivor out of all this and consolidate a bunch of these streaming services in the next decade.

It's generally heavily frowned upon in the NFL to run other live sporting events against them, if you are a team owner. Tony has also been really hesitant to want to move shows to Monday.

This is probably the time TK should set that aside because who knows how much of that monday audience just wont go over to netflix because someone said what NFL lost 30% of its audience in that move.

The rest? Total crapshoot

I don't think it's a TK decision. I'm pretty sure if Tony tried to do it, Shad would get involved. Not even trying to make an "LOL TONY'S A DADDY'S BOY" joke. It's that serious.

Yeah, TK’s role in the team is only analytics and recruitment. Shad actually owns the team. There’s zero chance he doesn’t basically say “Haha, very funny. No.”

Also, I said it before, it is f***ing foolish to move any of the AEW shows into direct competition with Raw. Even leaving the football stuff out of it, I would not give WWE an excuse to launch full scale war on Monday nights. Not in the post Vince world. UFC/Endevour has shown they’re quite willing to play nice with PFL, I imagine their attitude to AEW is similar. Don’t fire the first shot

Probably less.
