Betting on which streaming service is around in even 5yrs let alone is such a crapshoot because the landscape changes so quick like a paper plane in a tornado.
With stores getting rid of physical media by the boatload and trying to force everyone into streaming we may just circle around to the streaming bubble blowing up as people wanting to own the shows and movies they watch.

Not surprisingly, TKO rings the opening bell on the NYSE.

Pretty safe bet Amazon will still be around too. The rest? Total crapshoot Yeah Netflix and Prime will likely be the Comcast and Charter of the streaming world. Most of the rest are going to look to get bought out in the next 10 years. Probably less. And I’m Canadian, so Netflix, Amazon and Paramount are the only ones with a footprint here. Max has a deal with Crave in Canada, and Crave isn’t going anywhere, and Peacock’s exclusive stuff is all on linear channels owned by Global here

I just don’t see any world where your average family goes back to buying DVD’s at $30 a pop instead of paying for Disney+. Most people aren’t that worried about ownership, it’s why video rentals stores flourished back in the day.

Cant wait for the One Piece WWE Crossover. judging by how wwe used to want their women to look, I think we got that in the 00’s and late 90’s

The money here is an absolute no-brainer for WWE, and yeah, you have to figure "streaming is the future", though what, exactly that future looks like is still very much in flux (e.g. does it just became cable all over again, but now online?).
The challenge, I think, is this: a younger audience stuck with the NFL for the Peacock games, yes, but that's something people tend to put on and pay attention to for a game's duration. Raw (and likely most wrestling), meantime, has a chunk of its audience that will sort of dip in and out of watching over the course of 2-3 hours. Given that channel surfing is much less of an option when streaming on a smart TV, what will viewer retention look like over the course of an average show? Pro wrestling isn't live sports: its scripted nature makes it a fundamentally different watching experience, so it'd be dangerous to graph football viewership patterns onto it and assume it'll overlap.
Not saying it won't, mind, but it's a thought I'd have for basically any show like Raw - if Raw was only an hour long or a limited release series that'd be one thing, but as of now it's 3 hours every week, so, again, it's a fundamentally different viewing pattern from both live sports *and* regular TV shows. If I was WWE I'd definitely look into transitioning back to a two hour format for the show, if possible.

If you have a small enough niche to be successful like a Crunchyroll or a Dropout, you might have a chance to avoid the bust but otherwise, a lot of deals are going to be made to transfer content from one to another. Basically what Sony did, making them the smartest big studio out there.

Forgot to mention, Peacock and Paramount are included in all Sky boxes which I will say has helped a lot in getting a footing here.

Hasn't Netflix been floating the idea of ads during programming? Raw would be a perfect place to start since viewers are already used to it

Not surprisingly, TKO rings the opening bell on the NYSE. Seeing Vince McMahon on my television this close to WrestleMania season was the biggest jump scare I've felt since the lawnmower scene in "Sinister."

I bet this is what the CEO of Blockbuster said back in like 2004. Blockbuster lost because of convenience. As soon as someone could click there remote and rent a movie on demand for $5, even without streaming services, their business model was in trouble. I’ve walked into a Blockbuster and seen the movie I wanted was rented, haven’t encountered that issue online

I bet this is what the CEO of Blockbuster said back in like 2004. I mean, Blockbuster had karma coming for basically wiping out a lot of Mom and Pop stores and not evolving with the times. Netflix is more than likely going to ride a lot of this out by brand name alone and basically paying to host other people’s content like it did at the start.

I still have doubts I can make it through 3 hours of Raw every week but this gives me an opportunity to try.
Any chance they might row back to 2 hours as part of this deal 🤣

2 hours. No commercials. I will not tolerate ads on my Netflix!
