What does this mean for the back catalog in Canada? Will it be on Netflix? Or just airing Raw? These are the questions likely to be asked and probably won't be properly answered for months. Especially since a lot of promises are being made in that press release but the wording of the release is that Canada's getting the same stuff international viewers will get (the Network exclusives and airings of Smackdown, NXT etc).

I am curious to see how much of a success this is. Apple recently bought the exclusive rights to MLS. All the ratings numbers are controlled internally, so it just allows them to put whatever PR spin they want on it. These numbers are from Forbes. But the USA network is still in more homes than Netflix. Not by a ton, but by a bit. While I think streaming is the future, I think the market is over crowded and volatile right now. If you have 2-3 streaming services, it cost more than most cable packages in Canada (depending on the tier). While the NFL just did massive numbers on Peacock, it was still the least viewed game of the NFL playoffs this year. However, it saw a MASSIVE increase in the teen demo (paired with an even bigger drop-off for people 40+). WWE seems to want that demo the most, so maybe it will work out for them. Previously, the only way to get PLE's and the WWE network as through Sportsnet +. WWE has not yet clarified on this. This also gives AEW far more leverage on the Canadian TV space. Despite putting up great ratings on TSN, TSN has treated AEW like crap, burying Collision on their streaming platform (which no one has). AEW could now leverage a better TV deal as live TV in Canada is a bigger commodity in Canada than in the US* Canada's two biggest media companies are cable providers who have been actively sabotaging streaming every step of the way.

Legit questions: Does netflix have the infrastructure to do live feeds?
if they managed to have GLOBAL live feeds of RAW, that would be crazy good for RAW

I'm intrigued because Max has been doing live sports and Hulu so it's a matter of when not if for a lot of these teams and sure sometimes it's garbage but you can't progress until you make mistakes

Good thing they have a while to figure it out and make sure it works well. What do you mean they only have 12 months?

I have Netflix anyway so this is ok. I hope it’s on live! I’m guessing the only thing left on TNT in the UK will be Smackdown. Hopefully that will move to the Network & I can get rid of my expensive subscription.

Oh, if the TNT deal's ending (and they haven't confirmed properly but there's zero chance they won't now), that goes for all WWE programming so it'll all be on Netflix next year.

That will be so much more reliable & cheaper for me, even if Netflix increases their price slightly.

Man, I hope Netflix doesn't use this buzz to do something stupid like announce a price increase and a cut of their lowest ad-free tier to their shareholders or something.
Goddamnit.

Meltzer on their breaking news show said "this might be the last RAW deal I see signed during my lifetime" and that made me feel oddly sad for some reason.

Is he sick or something? Not that anyone knows of. But if this thing goes 20 years like is possible, he'll be 80-something when it's time to re-negotiate.

Yeah I’d love to get clarification on this at some point. Being in Canada I wanna know if they’ll be getting rid of the network and making everything on Netflix including the PLEs.

If this is true for Canadians, congrats ya'll.
The only thing I will miss is Smackdown on Fridays, because it fit my schedule best.
So if the new schedule is:
Mon - Raw on Netflix Tues - Smackdown on USA Fri - NXT on CW and Rampage right after
I am going to eat even better on Friday's!
