I wish so much this game was on Playstation. This is exactly the kind of games I love. I wonder how much money they are losing not letting people that play PS5 but it? Or is the deal from XBOX worth more money to the studio? i have both consoles but they didn't really have a choice, sony was trying to make it exclusive as well before microsoft bought bethesda they're probably not losing anything at all considering the size of the deal and how well it is already doing on steam, they had 250K+ who were playing before it even officially released with the $100 USD premium edition

I’m not very far, but so far I’m loving it. It’s a Bethesda game pretty much, which is exactly what I was looking forward to.
Got to agree with the city maps complaint now that I’m playing the game myself, hopefully they fix that up.

Or is the deal from XBOX worth more money to the studio? Microsoft literally owns Bethesda and with how rotten the relationship is between Sony and MS, I can't see it ever coming to PS5. And it's not like Call of Duty where a robust multi-player base is needed. They're doing just fine with it on Xbox and PC.

Sure a few Bethesda titles slip through the cracks these days onto PlayStation. Microsoft didn’t *have* to actually honor the deals Bethesda signed to release Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop onto the PS5(let alone make them console exclusives for a year), but they chose to, and remakes/remasters of Bethesda properties like the recent ones done for Quake and Doom titles, and of course new DLC for the existing cross platform online titles Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76, but aside from that all new Bethesda titles going forward are only going to PC and the Xboxen. We’ve already seen 3 examples of such this year; Hi-Fi Rush, Redfall, and now Starfield.

Enjoying the game, if not overwhelmed, the game itself isn’t very intuitive. I find myself forgetting how to do one of the hundred things you need to do in order to get from point A to B.
I wish they had either made outer space just a map or went all in and made it more playable. It’s kind of like a weird hodgepodge of half assed space exploration.
Planets look great, the environments are awesome, combat is about as smooth as I’ve ever played.
And I’m 10 hours in and I think I’m still in the second tutorial- like mission

I am glad that it seems to be a good game and all.....but I'm still salty as f*** that this came out before ESVI did.

So this game has the whole “if you pick up items technically owned by someone else in their view you are stealing” thing. I’ve been seeing multiple clips today of people gaming the physics engine of the game to brush along things they want to steal with another object that they actually own to a place out of sight, and it is glorious.

In those cases it's more "rather give them the toys rather than break already signed contracts and pay the piper for it".

How is everyone's performance on this? I'm seeing a lot of complaints about poor optimization and low framerates even on high end cards.
I'm wondering how it'll do on my computer. For reference I've got a 1440p/60hz monitor and have a 3080 12GB / i5-2600k / 32 GB DDR4 system

I suck at flying and the "space fights".... but it's still fun. All I want to do, as I work, is play more. LOL

I love the scan option and how it shows you were to go so you don’t get stuck wondering in circles Still don’t have the space aspect figured out

I just keep falling upon random massive establishments with huge sprawling underground cave systems. Just fighting and looting and accomplishing nothing to do with the actual story. Lol

I figured I'd download Starfield on a whim but that whim was 9 hours ago and we're still about 35 minutes out, games are way too big anymore

Just to check---this is entirely single-player, without any intrusive multiplayer elements sneaking into the single-player.
And the universe you explore is entirely just yours--your not gonna stumble onto planets, like, named by someone else like in No Man's Sky?

You even go to our own solar system very early in the main story.
