Okay fam, I’m officially as pumped as I’ve been for any other release. I had chills watching this.
Of course promises promises, who knows how it will live up but I’m sold.

I've sunk hundreds of hours into each mainline Elder Scrolls and Fallout game since Morrowind.
So yeah I'm excited for this.

I was rather lukewarm on the initial big video reveal last year; this is a bunch better. Still got some quibbles, but, the scale of thing is a draw.
Being on Games Pass is yet again a great deal, though. I can sink a whole bunch of hours into it, to see if it's some enough depth to that scale to make it worth a proper purchase.

Minimum and recommended system requirements for Starfield on PC. That 125 GB free on a required SSD is a big "oof," but the rest of the minimum requirements are surprisingly reasonable. I thought the recommended would be a 30 series Geforce RTX for sure.

Yeah, this has me super excited. I have so many ship ideas floating in my head. My girlfriend has conceded the fact our living room tv will be mine for a month at min. It's going to slightly suck though since Baldur's Gate 3 comes out a week before this. I have no idea how I'm going to juggle my time lol

I'm guessing the voice files are quite sizable, and that's just all the names the robot can call you

Skyrim is still the most immersive game I’ve ever played (RDR2 is close) and I’m a mark for Bethesda warts and all. I think I’m buying this and going to finally upgrade my Xbox while doing it

These days, Todd's voice makes me want to check if my wallet is still there.

I have a PS so I can't play this.
It's because Bethesda fear me. I conquered all of Skyrim and I was ready to conquer space.

I saw someone make a desperate petition for Bethesda to put this out as a PS5 Exclusive despite Bethesda being wholly owned by Microsoft. Most of the signatories are just so they can make fun of him, though.

I’ve seen literally nothing of this game, I don’t watch much for game trailers these days, and somehow I’m still excited based purely on the few tidbits of info that have trickled my way. Will likely check this out sometime over winter.

Is there a story or is it pure sandbox with randomly generated quests?
God knows I've lost many many hours to Bethesda games, but I would like a story with an ending.

I'd like to know if it is a completely new universe or if it is connected to Fallout in some way. I guess time will tell.

Only issue is the world is undoubtedly going to be generic as f***. Bethesda's worlds for TES and Fallout depend mostly on lore written by 1) One insane freak in Morrowind and 2) Black Isle. This is a world generated by the same dudes as write the dialogue. God save us.

I can't remember the faction names, but you work for a society dedicated to exploration, there's a simmering civil war between two outer space nations, and there's also a menacing pirate fleet.

Not really interested in the game myself but just a heads-up, the game's leaking like crazy right now so anyone concerned about that might want to be careful for a couple weeks.

I glanced at the thread title for a split second before clicking, and thought Seinfeld had died.

This does sound really good. The only major negative is that its a silent protagonist. I am never too keen on that--I always enjoy characters who interact with the side characters and NPCs. Makes the guys on your side more interesting rather than them just been some schmuck who you have no connection with and never interact with.

I generally agree, but last time Bethesda did a voiced protag we got Fallout 4. I'm happy to go back to silent. Plus it opens up way more dialogue options.
