First Ace Steel and now BJ Whitmer. What's next? "AEW Hires Convicted Baby Puncher, Chad Collyer?" Man, Chad Collyer is a name I haven't heard in years. I had to look him up to make sure this was a joke, and that he actually didn't punch a baby. Good news; he didn't (at least, there's no public record of him doing it). On a completely different note, apparently he's a magician now. Haha! I don't know, magicians are sneaky. Let's just say Chad Collyer is/isn't a baby puncher, and see if any evidence presents itself.

That statement definitely feels like a way stronger and firmer one that I've usually seen I don't think AEW has had a ton of people fired for domestic abuse but it males me wonder how bad what went down was for them to make that blunt a statement. Either way, holy shit on the charges and good on AEW for not wanting a piece of that. I don't remember if they issued a firm statement on Jake Atlas or not. I know after #SpeakingOut happened, Jimmy Havoc was suspended and later released after going to therapy, while Darby was taken off TV for a month, which wasn't acknowledged by the company. But I agree that this is a good hardline stance to take, especially with the severity of the charges. I often wonder how releases go in cases like this. Like, when they inform the talent they're gone, are they professional about it, or is it like, "yeah, so we don't want f***ing criminals on our roster, gtfo"?

Makes me wonder if this wasn't just an isolated incident for BJ. I know the divorce between him and Kelly Klein wasn't exactly amicable, but I never heard about him being violent with her before either.

Besides Jake Atlas (who was on the mend from an ACL tear and also caught being a f***ing moron with cops on camera), I think Whitmer's situation is the first incident where an AEW talent was charged with domestic violence while employed by them.

Good on AEW for acting quickly, but the wording sounds like there's more to it than is public so far.

I think his contract was either about to expire or had expired so he was either no longer a part of the roster or they just said let it go. Havoc and Sammy they publicly discussed because of how concrete everything was. Whitmer I think is different because not only for what charges were pressed but he was also part of the staff so I think there was a harder stance taken because he wasn't an independent contractor

Didn’t something come out about him during speaking out? Domestic violence related? I feel like there was because this doesn’t seem surprising to me.

He was just on a pay-per-appearance deal, and since he wasn't actually appearing, ti was just real easy to wash their hands of him. They just quietly took him off their roster page.

Wow, I never saw that coming from B.J. Whitmer. I am dissapointed in him. The Darby Allin situation is kind of confusing because he basically showed up DM stories to Tony Khan and Khan was like "alright, you are forgiven" and returned as if nothing had happened. Even Wiki (not the most trustable source) doesn't mention said accusations towards him but it still shows in the #SpeakingOut page. Didn’t something come out about him during speaking out? Domestic violence related? I feel like there was because this doesn’t seem surprising to me. I tried looking on Google and the only thing I found out was him standing up for Kelly Klein when she pointed out her mistreatment in Ring of Honor and sexual harassment from Jay Lethal. Other than that, I couldn't find nothing else. Wouldn't suprise if something bad comes from Whitmer now.

Good.
All domestic violence is abhorrent, but choking your partner is an especially serious and vindictive action. People don't usually go from zero to strangulation. I hope the victim has a good support system.

Yeah f*** this guy, and good for AEW for acting immediately as it broke
It sure sounds like more details will come out for how quickly they acted, but there's no place for this anywhere. It's lowest of the low shit and I'm glad his career is over.

After reading the report, BJ Whitmer is a total piece of garbage. AEW did the right thing to immediately get rid of him.

He been on my “that guy sucks” list for a while.
I don’t remember what but I swear there was some arrest or some allegation, standing by some shady wrestlers, or rumors involving ex.
I’ve not liked the guy for some time.
