To no surprise, Kyle Kuzma has declined his Player Option in hopes of securing a bigger deal than his $13M AAV To my surprise Gary Trent Jr has opted in to his Player Option at $18.56M. Considering he is only 24, I think he could easily matched what he had or got $20M AAV but word is he wants to remain in Toronto and hopes to work out a deal It's not the worst decision considering he FVV is most likely gone BUT I think raptors expected him to leave and they move Siakim and develop Barnes. Can still happen as Scottie Barnes is 21 so they can sign Gary Trent Jr to a longer deal and he can always be trade bait for later There will be more shots and Trent played a lot better in Toronto than Portland. He might want to stay there long-term, which not many seem to do. He did Toronto a favor by opting in his deal because he could forced them to pay the bag now BUT he was already averaging 18PPG so with no FVV, if he can take another step up in his game, he can get over $20M AAV With him opted in his deal, Toronto has options. Best case scenario is they are ass, they trade him at the deadline and he comes right back during FA

Pipe dream: Draymond is negotiating a paycut deal (longer deal with less money per year?) to free up cap space for GSW, enabling them to peruse veteran talents
Reality: Draymond is gonna make 70-80 million for the pistons
I anxiously await “option 3”: dunleavy overpays Draymond and ships Poole, Kuminga, Moody, and Wiggins out to make space

If they're losing Niang those would be two really viable sharpshooter replacements, and they need them. There are other options too but I feel like FVV to the Sixers is a lock at least.

Also find it funny about how much blown smoke there was about Harden leaving and "Going back to the Rockets"
To do what? Retire? The Rockets aren't winning a championship any time soon and he ain't gonna carry that team to it. His best shot's in Philly, and I hope he takes a pay cut while he's at it for that horrible playoff performance
Just get that deal done so you can construct the rest of the roster... that and trading Tobias and finally being free of that shit.

FVV has not be linked to Philly at all. They can’t even afford him and Raptors would have to agree to sign and trade which isn’t happening since they would have to take back Harris
Rockets have money, tradeable young players and draft capital. That’s the triple double combo you want in having the ability to become relevant really fast. Harden took a pay cut with Philly and they bummed it, he has no reason to do so again

He’s only been faintly linked to Philly cause of Nurse but they can’t even afford him In order for that to happen they would have to shed massive payroll or hope for a sign and trade. Raptors aren’t going to take back anyone on their payroll unless it’s Maxey. They could potentially get a exception if they did a potential sign and trade with Houston for Harden but Houston has enough money outright to sign him so that would only happen to do them a favor or make Philly give up collateral like when KD signed to Nets and they did a sign and trade for D’Lo and got a pick 76ers can’t sign anyone with a high salary without a sign and trade

Dunleavy has said he wants to keep Poole but the owner is basically wanting to keep his original band together. Even if Draymond took a payout to $20M AAV that would still force out players. This is not even including Klay PO as well and he said he wants a max contract Ideally Warriors would been able to convince Draymond and Klay to both take $15M AAV each since both are either injury prone or in decline but they want to get paid and I don’t blame them I’d let them walk since you signed Wiggins and Poole as replacements but they will must likely be moved by next season since you can’t have that many max contracts on your roster

As if Alabama's Brandon Miller didn't have enough red flags, he just said in an interview that in his opinion, Paul George is the greatest basketball player of all time.

ALSO Nuggets worked out a pick swap with The Pacers for 29 and 32 in exchange for 40 and the least favourable of Denver's 2024 first rounders.

This year's draft class has some of the most "NBA2K simulated 20 years into the future" names you'll ever read: Jalen Hood-Schifino, Gradey Dick, Bilal Coulibaly, Kobe Bufkin, Kobe Brown, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Rayan Rupert, Olivier-Maxence Prosper, Ricky Council, Terquavion Smith, GG Jackson.

Best case scenario is they are ass, they trade him at the deadline and he comes right back during FA Chris Haynes saying that Trent and the Raptors are working on a long term deal so accepting the PO might have just been a relationship building move by Trent where the expectation is he will get rewarded for doing it. If the Raptors want to build around Barnes, then having Trent and OG in the lineup is important. They will need to space the floor if Barnes is going to facilitate a lot of the offense, and Trent and OG are their only real 3P threats. Surprised he accepted the PO, but maybe the interest in him wasn't as big as he thought it would be. Or maybe he just wanted to stay in Toronto, which is certainly not something you hear often from NBA players. Speaking of Toronto, if I'm the Raptors I'm trying to get the 3rd pick for Siakam and draft Henderson.

You miss out on a title again and your answer is...Kristaps Porzingis? Porzingas is a good fit, he’s basically somebody to step in for Horford who’s practically ancient at this point. The Celtics really need a legit distributor though, I like D. White as a SG and I’m still way way done with Smart
