The Gunns Appreciation Thread

I'll front this by saying I've been a fan since their initial heel turn, any young up-and-coming wrestlers that are willing to be obnoxious little shits over the standard modern cool heel is always going to get a tick from me, however to see how they've leveled up since then has (I think) been one of the biggest success stories in AEW.

As we've seen time and time again, being a second generation wrestler is a heavy burden, it may unlock doors initially, but to step out from the shadow is a whole other ballgame and the Gunns have shown time and time again that they're not just willing to do that, they're thriving in it too.

Certainly helps to have one of the most badass themes and entrances in wrestling too.

I joked sbout doing this thread in the live thread and there fore I am suing you for gimmick infringement.

But I really like the Gunns they are the ideal butt( pun not intended) of jokes and yet competent tag team. I think they have a good amount of charisma and they were a big part of the Acclaimed rise to fame

I like their theme music. I don't think it completely suits them (I think they'd do better with something more high energy and obnoxious really) but it's a really great theme.

They've done this at several shows since the Ass Boys thing started. It's part of the reason why it caught on so well with live crowds, I think. Tell them not to do something and they're going to do it!

They were incredible last night. Carried the Hardys to a legit good match. I’m sure they’ll be making CMFTR look like a million bucks on Saturday too. Really valuable team in AEW right now.

Thought similar things while watching their match last night. They can go, they get a reaction and they keep coming along in terms of charisma and showing off their personalities. Definitely an AEW success story.

I see them being a top tag team down the line.

I like them and I think they're naturally very good obnoxious heels, they're very good at what they do.

Everyone hates on the Gunns but I think they're pretty great because they understand the homework assignment of being a heel.

You think they're obnoxious and lame?  Good.  That's the point.  They also eat shit and bump their asses off when it's time to feed the babyface comeback. 

Wrestling needs more heels that understand that, for most, the point is to look like a complete self-absorbed moron who'd get their teeth kicked in if they fought fairly, hence why they don't, and hence why they're heels. 

If there's one "old man yelling at clouds" thing in my wrestling fandom that I miss from the olden days, it's that heels come in 3 varieties:  Monster heels, final boss heinous mastermind bastard heels, and dumbass heels.  The Gunns are the latter, and they're good at it.

"Cool Heels" like the NWO, Bloodline, and Bullet Club have ultimately sort of done more harm than good to professional wrestling, to me. 

But I digress.

I’m not their biggest fan but I liked a lot of what they were doing last night in terms of tag team strategy. An association with Bullet Club might help them out a bit more.

Didn't like them at first... but they have grown on me. They have developed into a really good heel team. If they do end up being in BCG, it could really kick them up a notch, IMO.

I think they got rushed to the tag titles, but they're a pretty solid up and coming team and know how to play the heel role to a T.

They would have a badass theme if they actually used the proper musics that Danhausen gave them.

Said a little while ago I'm another thread that I thought they were underrated. They have really grown well in AEW, and I feel like their only downside is that the tag team talent pool in AEW is so deep.
