Can someone explain something to me. I don't watch WWE so I'm not really too clued up on what the Bloodline storyline is like but I keep hearing from fans and podcasts etc,that aren't into the Bloodline story, that this MJF/Cole story is an example of Bloodline style storyline happening in AEW.
What is it that is similar about these 2 storylines? Backstage skits?

What is it that is similar about these 2 storylines? Backstage skits? They're not that similar. They're both just good stories building on characters and showcasing their range to invest you in their relationships. People comparing the two reminds me of this meme:  |

What they have in common is they're fun stories with great performances that people are invested in |

Before I got a bit bored of the Bloodline and mostly stopped watching altogether the Sami as an Honorary Uce stuff made me smile in the way the Cole/MJF stuff does now, a partnership that can never last but you become invested in it and really want it to work, with the fans fully on board and hot for their segments, I guess that's the similarity? The rest of the Bloodline stuff post Sami that I've seen, I don't see the similarity at all really.

The big similarity comes in that at its core, at its best, dis be a male soap opera for males. Yes, people can like it for a variety of other reasons.
But again, at its core, that special sauce is being a soap opera. Bloodline, Bullet Club is fine, the golden lovers thing, the hangman saga, the Sami thing in bloodline all got in common that they take platonic love between dudes and showcase it. The highs, the lows. It’s always “love”. Everyone can connect to it, relate to it, or want it. The love between friends, brothers, is just as much love as that which is used in romance stories.

I really want them not to drag this out but like...if they have MJF turn back within a few weeks or even a few months, all I'll be sad/mad about is the wasted potential. But if they play their cards right they could turn this into a HUGE huge angle, but they gotta be willing to put time in to make us really care about MJF/Cole and if them fighting is the endgame, they could make it hurt rather than giving "ugh they coulda made so much money if they kept this going" vibes.

They need to call an audible and have this be a real thing. mJF as a heel is getting repetitive and boring. This is his best work since being champion. Give them a run at the tag titles and actually form a genuine friendship.

I honestly think that’s what needs to happen here and when it’s run its course, you do the big betrayal story and have MJF be a heel again. After a run as a beloved face it would freshen up the heel act, particularly if he’s tortured by the fact he’s betrayed the one genuine friend he’s had. Things could get real dark. |

He's so good as a heel that they know they can go back to it any time but I feel like they need to strike while the iron is hot and there are so many stories to tell with Max making a genuine friend and becoming a functioning member of society, even for a while |

MJF learning the power of friendship is gold and AEW needs to keep mining it. I'm going to be so disappointed when/if they take the stale and boring route of him turning on Cole
Cole turning on MJF will be less annoying but runs the risk of turning Cole heel and I don't think that's a good idea either.
