Think people had more of an issue with WWE banning words like "hospital" and "gold" than banning people getting twatted in the head with a chair unprotected, they also banned all Piledrivers and shooting star presses for years which AEW aren't doing at all. It's still a clear very clear alternative to a product that had f***ing Spongebob on their guardrails at Wrestlemania, can't see any real issue with any of these things being banned. Truly weird take. Maybe read the "need approval" list again. All dives, top rope moves, piledrivers...like, really? Yes, let's take a company built around high flying, fast paced action and make everyone get approval for, or have to completely alter, their style. The exact same style that the VPs of the company are world famous for. Makes TOTAL sense. Chairshots and stuff, I kinda get. The rest of this shit is more clown shoe idiocy from the same guy who gave CM Punk his own show as a reward for trying to destroy his company. All to appease the network. AEW will finally get on a streaming service right as they turn into what their core audience doesn't want, and tunes out in droves. Just because they need approval, doesn't mean they're banned. Just need agents approval so we're not getting the same spots EVERY match like we've gotten for awhile and prevents people from doing certain moves they shouldn't be trying in the first place. When we've gotten on WWE, it's been for banning certain phrases or all variants of certain moves wholesale. There's nothing saying piledrivers or top rope moves are banned, just need to be approved beforehand, nothing wrong with that and probably should have been put in place awhile ago.

Note how there's nothing in here mentioning firearms. New era is here. Bullet Club Gold about to live up to their name.

Honestly it doesn't seem like much will change. People now need to approve the more risk heavy moves. It's not like the moves are being straight up banned. We'll still see MJF tombstone people,Toni hit the Storm Zero etc. They just need to get clearance from the agent working the match.
All the other shit like chairshots and bucklebombs being banned really makes sense.

This is the exact same nonsense people bash WWE for doing, but since it's AEW, it's totally ok and needed lol. So much for being an alternative. Now you get 4 more hours of WWE a week! So glad I don't support this f***ing company lol. Yeah man I don’t know about anyone else but I won’t watch a wrestling company where unprotected chair shots aren’t allowed I want all my favourites to get brain damage dammit! The stuff outright banned makes sense. I mean I don’t know how the stuff needing approval will work. Seems like gonna be a bit of a hassle tbh but presume they’ll have some sort of system in place to manage it effectively (Very least I hope so) I can’t see it having too much of an impact on the product especially with guys like Darby being so popular

I doubt anyone is going to need to fill in forms or make formal requests to do a dive. It's just going to be a chat with the road agent. Presumably, most of not all matches go through an agent, even if it's only to confirm timings and finishes. I don't think most of the stuff in this report is really going to have that large of an effect on anything.

I don't get the outrage. A lot of us have been saying for a while now that AEW could stand to have some stricter rules in place. This sounds like a step in that direction.
And yeah, I love a good suicide dive but there doesn't need to be one in every match.

We send it to Tony Khan, but will he process it right away? No, because hes overwhelmed because Debra's on maternity leave. So your date to do a coffin drop from top of the arena steps won't be set for six or eight weeks, and even then, you're gonna have to block off the whole day, because they don't give you a specific time. No, no, it's a window. (Lifted from Brooklyn 99 with edits to make it fit in lol)

AEW has also sent a letter to FAN asking it to ban me from all AEW live threads going forward. Finally, you all can enjoy posting in them again!!!

The money mark (TK) has finally come to his senses! Guess he's finally tired of paying his roster millions of dollars to sit home on the injured reserve list for doing stupid shit in matches that nobody's going to remember 5 minutes later.

Right now Moxley is on the phone with Rene begging her to let him quit AEW while trying to convince her that they can live on a full time GCW paycheck.

Picturing Mox sitting in his home office with his reading glasses on, filling in 40 pages of forms requesting permission to have an exploding grenade on a poll barbed wire fire pit first blood last man standing death match.

Can Danielson still tearfully pretend to have his leg trapped between the elevated ramp for 40 minutes? Because that’s the only reason I watch AEW.

I can't believe anyone is actually taking offense to this, some people really will find a way to just get angry at anything lmfao
Like this is so matches have variety and these guys can cut back on potential high risk spots. Cut down on repetition in the shows and put on a better product where, in practice, it won't look like much of anything has actually changed.

TK is finally starting to get it. These cards need a little restriction. If the first match on the card has six dives, four chair shots, and a blade job, what is the main event that they have been building to for weeks supposed to do? The brawling in the crowd when it isn't setup and approved is just plain stupid. All you need is some guy catch an elbow or something and AEW gets to pay out some money.

I approve of a safer work environment which will lead to less injuries. But full on banning stuff? It’s hard not to feel this is mandated by the higher ups to protect their investment. Which is fine but this kills another little piece of AEW.
