We've all seen it and as they say, the victor's are the ones who rewrite history.
So besides the 3 obvious ones, Hogan, Hall and Nash.
Which other superstars who jumped ship from the WWF or ECW during 1995-2001 and actually became a bigger star there than their previous employer?

The obvious ones are Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio Jr, and Chris Jericho. Yeah, you could argue they were bigger once they jumped to the WWF, but its in WCW where they became household names and got the interest of WWF in the first place.

Would Raven count?
He was booked stronger in ECW but he was still treated like a big deal in WCW and was in front of way more eyes

Seems like OP wants wrestlers who jumped TO WCW, not just any jump. So, I'd say, 1-2-3 Kid is probably the only guy I can think of that jumped, became a bigger star and jumped back.
If OP means any jump, it opens the field a lot more.

Again, this is in the context of the Monday Night Wars, meaning they started on one show and jumped to the other, and only within the timeframe of both shows, so nothing counts that would happen in something like 2004 or whatever.
Bigger Lex Luger jumps to WCW Kevin Nash jumps to WCW Scott Hall jumps to WCW Syxx/X-Pac jumps to WCW/WWF Roddy Piper jumps to WCW Mr. Perfect jumps to WCW Big Bossman jumps to WWF Chris Jericho jumps to WWF Vince Russo jumps to WCW (unfortunately) Jeff Jarrett jumps to WCW (second time)
Lesser Vader jumps to WWF (technically in Nitro) Marc Mero jumps to WWF Brian Pillman jumps to WWF Road Warriors jump to WWF Bret Hart jumps to WCW Davey Boy Smith jumps to WCW Public Enemy jumps to WWF Sid jumps to WCW Ahmed Johnson jumps to WCW Big Show jumps to WWF Goldust jumps to WCW Chris Benoit jumps to WWF Eddie Guerrero jumps to WWF Dean Malenko jumps to WWF Perry Saturn jumps to WWF Raven jumps to WWF Haku jumps to WWF
Indifferent Madusa jumps to WCW Ted DiBiase jumps to WCW Jim Neidhart jumps to WCW Rick Rude jumps to WCW Teh Quebecers jump to WWF (not that their WCW run was good) Warrior jumps to WCW Bam Bam Bigelow jumps to WCW Debra McMichael jumps to WCW Terry Funk jumps to WCW
Probably missing several others, but these are the ones that stand out.

Perry Saturn got pretty damn over in WCW, and had more eyes on him than in ECW, so I'd say he counts.
It's a small list though.

Can any ECW jumps really count? ECW was a smaller company with less eyes on it, but it's arguable that most guys, with a few exceptions, had better runs there than in WCW. It almost feels neutral, really.

I'd argue that guys like Mikey Whipwreck/Sabu/Public Enemy were better used and treated like bigger deals in ECW than they were in WCW despite more people seeing them on that program

Kevin Nash was big in the WWF, obviously, as Diesel, but it's probably an easy argument to make that his star value went up tremendously as himself on his WCW return.

I agree with most of this but Sid I wouldn't say lesser. WCW pushed him hard when he returned. Came in as Macho's Muscle (weird it sounds) but he went and beat Sting on PPV. He went into the feud with Goldberg. Has a US title run. Than Went into be World Champion and MEed in 00. Got hurt yes than come back to ME again at Starcade and up until his career changing injury.

Yeah, it's very close and I almost put him in the indifferent column, simply because his runs in both companies were pretty close in status, but I'd say his 96/97 run in WWF was good enough to make up for his work in 95. I did like most of his WCW run though, until they made him 'stupid'.

Great post. The one I wonder about is Piper. I mean he was as big as it could get in the WWF. He really felt like a mid to lower card guy in WCW after the 96 Starrcade match, at least to me.

I think Benoit and Eddie were definitely bigger stars in WWF than they were in wCW, even just taking into account 2000-01 and not their 2004 peaks. Benoit was main eventing PPVs with The Rock during the hottest year in company history and Eddie's Latino Heat run with Chyna was more over than he ever was in WCW.

Sean Stasisk. May not have been a long run in WCW, but he wasn’t wrestling with a stiffy.

Benoit was main eventing PPVs with The Rock during the hottest year in company history and Eddie's Latino Heat run with Chyna was more over than he ever was in WCW. While Benoit was given the opportunity to really put the crossface over in WWF, he still had a great run in the Horseman and became champion in WCW. And while Eddie's personality was over, which definitely helped in the long run, he was pretty darn credible during the early years of Nitro, where they really put him over as a strong US champion. I like the stuff with Chyna, but they made it as if she wore the pants in the relationship, and losing the IC title to Billy Gunn of all people didn't do him any favors. Don't get me wrong, in 2000 Benoit was easily my second favorite, but as a whole he had more highlights in WCW.

Piper was a weird run. Im going to say Indifferent. I say that because he was MEing in 97. He had wins over Hogan again. Than we kind of saw him break down in 98 and 99. he kind was booked dumb because some reason all but one match was non title against Hogan. The one that was was botched ended if you watch it back.

I agree about Sean Waltmann. He was alright as the 1-2-3 Kid, but I thought he took a big step in WCW. Syxx walked so X-Pac could run.

The Steiners going back to WCW in 1996 from WWF in 1994, NJPW in 94/95, and ECW.
Opposite for LOD coming into WCW in 1996.
Nobody mentioned IRS or Big Bubba but those might be washes although Rotundo had a heck of end of career in New Japan
