Dua Lipa - The Greatest of All Time?
Discuss. โจ She's so talented, feels like 80 % of her songs are freaking classics. I listen 'em daily, keeps me in such a good mood. Since 2017, there's never been a dull year a far as pop/disco music goes. Currently I'm amazed by "Dance the Night", so'oh iconic already, the best of the both worlds - Dua Lipa meets Barbie! ๐ "Pretty Please", "Be the One" and "Physical" are my faves. ๐

I have yet to hear anythign from her that warranted more than one listen.
So no, not the GOAT.
She can be your GOAT though, nothing wrong with that.

She's definitely a pop powerhouse, ultra successful, super talented and not bad to look at either.

Never listened to any song of hers and personally never hear anything about her when people discuss music in general but like said if she is your personal GOAT it is all that matters.

The OP photo is from this music video. You should definitely give it a chance. Always gets me pump'd! Dua > Madonna ๐

why dua think she's on my desktop the cover pic of her of the may 2020 elle no 417 i knew of her starting hits, then she did the impossible and made sean paul likable with no lie of course i don't like one ... IDGAF ... and even thought one kiss was a little low key, but gradually got right into that! then she went dirty blonde ... like two other female singers at that time (if i can remember right) rita ora and carly rae jepson and electricity blew my little boots off me loved swan song from alita battle angel and then future nostalgia smashed in, bought the cd, and played hallucinate about five billion times (estimate), close to being obsessive in listening to that song ... and gorgeous animated video for it! but the first i heard the song was when someone did a "bbc news theme" remix for it levitating however got under my craw, for being a draggy song, but every other song on that album was awesome!, but loved the moonlight edition remix a lot more she is like mabel, slow start, then gets a song into my head and stays there, also sigrid she's lovely and now back to my desktop for no reason ...

She must be doing something right since Iโm in my mid 40s and have heard of her and have somehow heard some of her music. She cracked the Olivia Rodrigo barrier of only modern musical artists Iโve heard of. WellโฆBad Bunny did too but I legit never heard of him before WWE. Yep. Thatโs how plugged in i am.

Each to their own, but I don't see it.
I've heard songs of hers and only found out it was her a while after the fact and honestly, they could have been literally ANYONE.
I also need to point out, for transparency, I recently turned 40 and started to form my musical tastes in the UK at the height of Britpop.
So I am likely not the target audience for this kind of thing. But that's okay.
I'm sure if I played you some Manic Street Preachers, you wouldn't feel as passionate about that as I do.

Not a fan.
I'm sure she's a nice person, I just don't find her music any different than all the other current pop/dance music out there. Another corporate, manufactured voice for corporate, manufactured music.

I am very surprised at how many of her songs I have heard and enjoyed despite not actively seeking out pop music.
I don't know about the GOAT but she is very good.

She hasn't clicked with me yet, really, but she's definitely been doing well for herself. Maybe I'll become a fan yet, just hasn't really grabbed me at this time.

She's definitely the greatest singer ever to be called Dua Lipa.
But even otherwise yes, she's utterly awesome.

Not really a pop music person so my opinion probably doesn't count for squat. That said it seems like a lot to put on someone whose only been around for a few years.

The most credit goes to her producer(s) and engineer(s).
