Did you get this on a computer or mobile? And what browser? Desktop on Microsoft Edge. So far Google Chrome hasn't given me trouble yet. Didn't Edge switch to being a Chromium browser? I could be wrong there.
Firefox and adblock are still working.

From 2020 onward, yeah.

Well, I use Firefox and I just tried to access a video on youtube and got a notification that adblockers weren't allowed there and to disable it if I wanted to access the video. Didn't even get a "three videos" type alert. Weird thing is I was just there an hour or so ago and it didn't say anything. Alrighty.

I got the same warning yesterday with firefox, but since then I've used the site multiple times with no issues.

Hasn't happened to me yet and hopefully it'll stay that way. YouTube is the reason why I got an ad blocker in the first place. The site has become downright unusable without one and I can't say I want to spend my time staring at misleading ads for scam mobile "games", some of which are borderline porn despite the fact that any video that has even remotely vaguely sexual themes runs the risk of being demonetized despite being much more tasteful, and let's not even think about having nudity, even in a non-sexual context.
So if it ends up affecting me, I'll just wait until my adblocker inevitably updates to find a workaround, or I'll use a third-party site. Or I'll watch people's videos on a different site if they upload them there as well, in order to encourage competitors. If I get really desperate, I'll download the video and watch it offline. Ain't no way I'm using YT without add-ons in its current state.
And f*** the very notion of ever getting youTube "premium". I'm not giving them money they don't deserve just to get them to remove annoyances they added for the sole purpose of wringing extra money out of us, all so I can get an experience that's not quite as good as what you used to get for free. Calling it "premium" because it's marginally less inconvenient is laughable. It's especially insulting when the current version of YouTube is frankly shameful for a big budget site ran by one of the richest tech giants in the world. When I have to rely on third-party sites because YouTube's built-in features either lack elements that amateurs were able to implement or straight-up do not work, that's a problem.
Fortunately, since YouTube can't do anything competently, I predict that this also won't work properly and will be a non-issue.

I just learned there is an extension that also skips the in-video ads for like Raid Shadow Legends and such.

It'll try to load an ad sometimes and then give me the prompt, but that's it. Usually if I just open in a new tab I never even get that.

Yesterday I was having an issue with Youtube where it paused my adblocker on the site when I opened it and it wouldn't unpause. A couple hours later it was working as normal but that feels like it's eventually going to become the default, which has me quite tempted to just stop using Chrome entirely.

Haven't got it, but oddly enough, a few days ago, it wouldn't let me see anything until I agreed to turn my YouTube Watch History on, and now all my "Suggested" videos are ones I've already watched.

They should know that there are always extensions being made to get around shit like this if they implement it, people are always out-teching their techies lol

People should really sign up for FAN Premium if they want all those ads for Royal Crown Hair Dressing and Zagnut Bars to stop randomly popping up in their posts.

Best I can figure, the adblocker notice pops up on monetized Youtube accounts but not average accounts. It has popped up for a soap opera account, and for WWE videos, but not any other video I've tried to access.

I never got around to using an ad blocker-Just as long as they will still let me skip some ads-you don't think they'll do away with that option one day do you?

Adding this here instead of a new thread Youtube has officially shut off main page suggestions if you have your history off meaning all you get now is tied to your viewing history so a narrower algorithm.

Youtube should create its own super hero dedicated to stopping that dastardly no good Ad-Blocker.
The Unblocker!!!
Where ever ads are blocked, the Unblocker will be there fight for random product shilling!

Welp, they finally got me. I didn't get a three strikes thing, just the usual "hey, it looks like you're using an ad blocker" shit, but still.
Idk if it's just Chrome doing it (would make sense, both are under Google), but Opera doesn't give me the same issue.
